my son loves horrible history
you can get it in books, dvds and games
also horrible science

son also loves football so a ball, kit, poster would be good

new bag for school
new football boots bag
bath towel with picture on
hand held quiz machine
computer games
surfing clothes
necklace etc from next (wristbnds)
dvd player/ video player
dvd film
cinema tickets
football tickets
concert tickets (got my son x-factor tickets)
look in local museum for bits

It really pains me to write this, as I refuse to go in this shop and stand outside. I wish I could write it very small, as I hate it so much.....Warhammer(Games Workshop) AAAARGH!....runs away screaming

I asked the same question for a 10 year old boy and was recommended 20Q or Bop It.

PS last year they loved science kits - one to make your own volcano and the other to grow your own crystals.

Top Gear book or DVD? Or Brainiacs?

Another vote for the Alex Rider books here too. DS1 (now 12) recieved the first one for Christmas a couple of years ago and was hooked straightaway.

It does get harder as they get older though, doesn't it. DS wants a badminton racquet this year, but we haven't come up with much else yet.

What about an MP3 player. Ds got one from my sister last year and uses it loads. He also got a cool watch from us, but I can't remember what else.

Oooh yes, and Bop It is good. Addictive though (for you not the 12 year old )

cremolafoam · 09/11/2006 12:12

also charlie Higson's young bond books
