xmas party ideas please!!!!!

Hi!!! I am throwing a Christmas party on 10th December. There will be... approx 15 adults and 6 children ranging in ages from 2 to 8.

I would love ideas please for everything... food, and games. I am asking everyone to bring a dish with them and an unlucky dip present each... basically the most horrid thing they can find for a pound. In addition to that I will be playing 'Pin the nose on the reindeer' for the children... any other ideas?

Like the idea of the "Unlucky Dip"! For that sort of number, I'd want the food to be something I could prepare in advance and then just do salads etc to serve with. For pudding I'd do a selection of different festive looking things - tiny mince pies, a huge trifle, a pavlova with red fruit on top, some dried figs and apricots dipped in chocolate.

For entertainment you could maybe do a Christmas quiz. Split the adults into teams, divide the children between them, have child questions and adult questions about Christmas with a lucky dip with tiny prizes for the kids, wrapped in Christmas paper. Charades? Guess the Christmas song when another team hums it?

I'm loving the idea of the unlucky dip, i'm tempted to have a Christmas party myself now so I can do it too!
