I've come to the conclusion for adults family (mum, mil etc) consummable is the way to go. How many scarves do you needet c. Bottle of wine a bit meaN & BORING. IDEA OF CHOCOLATE CLUB. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH THEY COST, AND IF TONS, a cheaper but similar version? Or other cool consummable gifts. Or any thing at all that I ccan do on line for aunt & uncle, mum, step dad, pil & gpil? then I'm done. I love Christmas, but pressie shopping is getting harder & more boring

Hotel Chocolat do choc to die for and they do a club too. It's about £17 per box and you choose how many you order - I think you get tokens and the person then redeems them !

I can also heartily recommend magazine subscriptions as a good pressie for these difficult people !

I'm cooking my dad a cake, and some truffles...maybe peppermint creams too..
I think edible pressies is a good plan!

Lakeland have the most delicious-looking Christmas catalogue out now.
Plus my mum's book is great for oldies.

Sainsburys has 1/3 off gifts until 8/11/06. I've snagged some bargain foodie gifts like biscotti in a jar and honeycomb honey which I'm giving to foodie relatives instead of the latest cookery book.

I was leafing through my mum's Good Housekeeping this week and saw a really easy recipe to make spiced cranberry vodka. Thought I might get a production line of these going then make / buy a hamper of food stuff to go with it for my ILs. Lakeland is great or just local dellies - Waitrose also a winner for nicely packaged and more unusual bits and pieces. No good if you need to do it by post mind you. Montezuma Chocolate Shop has an on-line service and their stuff is totally yummy and good value. Deffo 2nd the mag subscription idea - these have been some of my most successful pressies for 'difficult' rellies.
