I am probably just being paranoid, but just wanted to check it wont offend anyone when dts take them out and about, its just you have to be so careful these days I have lost track of whats right and whats wrong, and I would like them to be aware of different race and culture.

???? why would that offend?

BATtymumma · 25/10/2006 23:46

can't see why anyone would need to commetn on that?

slaughterfalls · 25/10/2006 23:47

I dont know thats why I asked, as it seems so many things do these day, like the phrases, blackboard, black coffeee, etc.

I have thought about this more than twice to make sure I am not missing something...and cannot think of a reason why this would cause a problem at all!

Tortington · 25/10/2006 23:47

you worry too much - who gives a fuck what other people think.

Blu · 25/10/2006 23:51

Slaughterfalls - whatever have you been reading? Black coffee, blackboard, black forest gateau, and even Black and Decker drills are all perfectly innoffensive.

baby Annablee dolls, on the other hand, are a bit hideous, and over-priced - but who am i to talk, DS has a babyBorn - even more hideous - and he loves her to bits.

I am sure your dts will be very happy.

slaughterfalls · 25/10/2006 23:54

Yes they are costly, but worth it if it gives me five minutes peace

dd2's fave dolly at the moment is my old black cabbage patch kid from the 80's...think it's fine if you get one of each

throckenholt · 26/10/2006 08:00

just expect them to both want the same one (even if you get two the same they will want the same one )

juuule · 26/10/2006 18:57

Exactly what I was thinking - Throckenholt. I would get the same for each of them. I know mine would argue over whichever doll was being played with at the time. Two different dolls - two opportunities to argue.

cece · 26/10/2006 19:00

My dd has a white and a brown one - never had a problem from anyone about it!

DetentionGrrrl · 27/10/2006 06:22

I had a black doll as a kid...and a black best friend. No issue as far as i can see!

Kif · 27/10/2006 06:35

At my mum's Dd got hold of some blue biro pens and 'decorated' her (fairly new) baby annabel.

I was pretty cheesed off. My mum's novel take on it was that she had made her dolly look like BIL who is heavily tattooed!

Hasn't stopped her loving that doll to bits.

belgo · 27/10/2006 07:06

I bought two baby annabelles for my dds, one white one black, to avoid confusion as to which one belong to who. What did surprise me was that the white one cost 15 euros and the black one 10 euros.

flack · 27/10/2006 09:01

I didn't have twins but mine (boy and girl, what's worse) would probably fight over them, too. Maybe you could buy 2 of each?

ScareyCaligulaCorday · 27/10/2006 09:20

What does dt's stand for? Whenever I see it I always think of deliriums tremens and I'm sure it's not that. I keep meaning to ask.

flack · 27/10/2006 09:21

dts=darling twins.

Iklboo · 27/10/2006 09:21

Darling Twins

throckenholt · 27/10/2006 09:21

dear twins

nailpolish · 27/10/2006 09:30

guess what, i was thinking the same the other day waterfalls

i have been considering buying one for each dd (not dt's, 2 yrs apart) and i thought about one white one black, but didnt know what others would think
