I think I'd like to have some. We always went to rellies for Xmas, we're going to be at home on the day for now on, though.

Nothing that takes too much effort or creativity (I have a bypass there). But the DCs would still enjoy and look back on with fondness. Suggestions?

They are aged 2-7...

ive got some friends whose family go for a walk on christmas morning and decorate a tree in the woods. always thought it was a grand idea.

With DS[3] past 2 yrs we have made cookies on xmas eve that are cut into relevant xmas shapes.

I would like a tradition for xmas too, we are so disorganised.

NastyN, are the cookies for Father Xmas or for everybody?

Oh maggie, that sounds lovely, but can't see my lot dragging themselves out in the cold!!

I make special xmas muffins and mince pies on xmas eve so that the house has the special xmas smell!!! When ds wakes up we get his stocking into our room and let him open it up in bed with us, then once that's all done we go into the other room to see what santa has left!!

On Christmas Eve each child gets new pj's to welcome father Christmas in

they make biscuits and take them to the neighbours (not sure how thre shy new professor chap next door will take that LOL!)

Everybody ahs a stocking at mums' house, we all put one gift in each other perosns, maximum price £2, very much thought that counts (and oof but we get some crap LOL)

As everybody can't get together on the day any more we always get together on christmas Eve at a local restaurant that sets the Conservatory aside for the 20 or so of us. Loads of kids, etc- no rpessure so alwys the best bit.

each year i buy three decoratiosn for the tree,a and put the initials of one child and the year on each one, when they oeqve home I wil pack them up and give them for their first Christmas tree.

We do the decoration thing too. DD chooses a decoration each year and it's building into her own set of decs for when she leaves home.

Lunch and a walk on Xmas Eve, then the family service at 6pm at church. A drinks party for friends in the evening which they promise to leave by midnight.
