Feel better?

FreakyFloss · 21/10/2006 21:23

Slightly thank you. I am feeling incredibly bitter as my xmas and new year involves DP and I working opposite shifts and having to send DS an hour and a half away to my mums for new year.

That killed the tread then!

Sorry Floss

mymama · 21/10/2006 23:05

floss at working opposite shifts. Know how you feel though we don't have any family except for useless selfish mil who isn't interested in Christmas with family. So we are on our own. Get a bit at those who have Christmas altogether with family, even if it isn't ideal.

FreakyFloss · 21/10/2006 23:07

Yes, I know everyone always has something about xmas they don't like but it is hard to look forward to it this year. And then I think of those even worse off than me who just don't have anyone.

I'm sorry if my thread was one of the ones that upset you Floss, and I'm really sorry you're having such a difficult time atm.

To explain, I dislike spending xmas with my inlaws because they rarely mention my first son, who died around xmas 5 years ago, and in my own home on xmas day I think I should be able to mention him.

I hope you manage to have an ok xmas, depsite everything you will have to sort out

hunkermunker · 21/10/2006 23:13

Oh, Floss

Can you plan an alternate Christmas on a different day when you're both at home with DS?

threelittlepumpkins · 21/10/2006 23:14

Just re-reading- any chance your Mum could come to you to have ds? So you both get to see him around your shifts?

[hopeful emoticon]

mymama · 21/10/2006 23:16

floss what about Christmas eve? Are you all together then?

hunkermunker · 21/10/2006 23:18

How is your mum, Floss?

FreakyFloss · 21/10/2006 23:21

No not on xmas eve - Dp on 5-3 xmas eve eve, 3-11 xmas eve then nights on xmas day boxing day. I'll be working after his last night, can't fit in any shifts before so inadvertently should end up with xmas off. We only have space really for one person, so mum coming here would mean my SF would be on his own. TBH I am relieved she is happy to have him - she wasn't sure about it a few months ago. I'm hoping we might have a day off together when neither of us are working (have had to take holiday fingers crossed) on the 28th.

Other than blaming herself for DS's burn not too bad. they were supposed to be visiting tomorrow but SF is poorly so they wont make it. Was looking forward to seeing my mum! Thanks for asking Hunker.
