Had a great idea for keeping track of presents

Ive had a great idea for keeping track of presents, if you have seen this then I assume you are on the Christmas boards so are like minded!

I buy through the year and usually do lists, this year I am also keeping a pinterest board with images of all the things I've purchased. Last year I went a bit overboard so thought a visual list would help me keep things in line!

Might not be for everyone, but I am loving it so far.

Smile Good Plan

Like an Amazon or ebay wish-list but a Bought List .

I but things and put them safely in the depths of my wardrobe then dredge them out in November to put into large bags for each person (then find things I've bought and forgotten Blush )

I'm not an iPhone or iPad type so it's a pen and notebook for me but my DH would do a Pinterest style list .

Thanks

Oh and BTW - what's this "went a bit overboard" thing. No such thing as overboard when it comes to Christmas presents Xmas Grin

Thanks 70 I thought it was a good idea, I really, really did go overboard last year, but at least it means I have a head start on this years as I kept a lot back Blush

Last year I did a list, but it didn't look that much where as the pictures seems so much already. I blame Reastie and her fantastic bargain thread!

That's a good idea. I keep a list using Evernote in my smartphone. I could probably attach photos to the notes as well, at the moment it's just entered manually.

I like adding the RRP as well as the paid for price as I'm quite pleased with the bargains I've got Blush. I'm stocked up for all dc birthdays through the year already!

Oh yes blackberryfrost adding the rrp and seeing how much you have saved is best part!

I love Pinterest. I use No More Socks app which reminds me what I've bought for who and what I still need to get.

i use a spreadhseet

nickdrakeslovechild · 20/02/2015 14:56

You're welcome MTWTFSS I buy so much online that as ive bought it I just click on the image and it goes straight to pintrest. I do use pintrest for loads of things anyway. I do keep the spreadsheet as a tally for how much I have saved spent.

We have a yearly spreadsheet which lists what we have bought for everyone but also what was bought for us.

It has a suggestions bit which I add to throughout the year and it is colour coded to know whether or not we have bought the item. That way we have a check list as we wrap presents so you don't end up finding a present in February that you hid away.

We have spreadsheets going back 9 years.

I do have a Christmas pinterest board but it is usually food, decorations and cards ideas. Not presents.
