I got my 11 year old DD a cheap copy penny board for Christmas (I thought I was buying a small skate board, but it turns out that "Muuum, it's totally different.").

A lot of falls and friction burns later, DD1 (14), DS (12) and DD3 (7) all want one.

wume I guesstimated. They are a pretty accurate fit. And since I found them on sale, I brought another two pairs, which would have been the same as one because they were half price (my dds a v. Close in age, so it is really not as extravagant as it seems. There is only a few sizes between them!)

I second Playmobil, my daughter was 7 last June and when she asked for Playmobil for Christmas I thought perhaps she was too old and we'd missed the boat.

Having done some research via mumsnet, she seemed to be the perfect age so I bought the Pony Farm which has been a massive hit and she has managed to build it herself with a little help.

I have now ordered the large Playmobil Hotel from Amazon on offer at the mo £40 instead of £100 for her birthday in June. ( i will be itching to give it to her when it arrives this week).
She went to a friends party yesterday and we bought a small pony set for the birthday girl (7) she was also over the moon having not had Playmobil previously Xmas Smile

Just read more closely and yy to pp recommending goth girl. Dd8 got them for her birthday, both dds obsessed. Ottoline books also - I think ottoline are a tad easier to read

They are a brilliant series, and actually got my DD reading by herself when she was on cusp last year.

WUME ARE YOU me!!

I too have had a quick look at the roller skates Smile...and was also thinking for bday but ours is too far away to guess...ranibow ones look fab.

There's a few other offers on playmobil too (am being good and resisting!)

www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=s9_dnav_bw_ir12_s?node=468292,!425636031,!425638031,2871337031&search-alias=toys&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Playmobil&bbn=2871337031&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=0EHRHKWSFY3WD1JWY3HN&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=571434487&pf_rd_i=2871337031

My DCs have loved the pyramid they got for Xmas but it's retired now unfortunately (was sitting in the cupboard for 18 months!)

Sorry not sure that link worked properly - am on mobile version. But if you go to the toys sale bit you can narrow it down to 'building and construction sets' and there's a few different PM sets reduced.

Vvvoom · 31/12/2014 15:35

Honestly don't bother with a furby - my dd loved hers for 3 days (last xmas's gift) and has never bothered pick it up since.

supermariossister · 31/12/2014 17:26

think furby boom currently 25 pound in home and bargains 30pound in b and m so not too bad if you do decide to go for it. ds loves his always playing with it. annoying thing it is Grin.

TenMinutesEarly · 01/01/2015 20:19

Lego, harumika set, talking minion, bike. All big hits for just turned 7 old dd. She got a 2ds for her 7th birthday. She loves it.

Kim82 · 01/01/2015 20:22

Kidizoom smart watch. Dd adores it and only takes it off to charge it overnight.

When my son was eight I spent all night blowing ballons up and sticking streamers to the ceiling. He loved it, I have pictures of him and his sister kicking and headering them about. He has no recollection of what I got him that year, just the balloons and streamers :) in the living room !
