Do you save any presents for Boxing Day?

This year we are trying something new as it's always so busy with presents they don't seem to enjoy them all!

They are having their Santa presents Christmas Day and nothing else. The rest from grandparents and family etc we are saving till Boxing Day so it's like having Christmas Day part 2!

Anyone else done this and how successful was it? It's a first for us but we are going to trial it and see!

We see different bits of the family on Boxing Day so yes, presents a bit spread out!

Yes, but only as we see other side of family on Boxing Day. Family get to see kids open their presents & kids don't get present overload

Yes we have a big meet up with family on Boxing Day so those presents are saved for then. We've always done it this way, the kids love it - it's like having Christmas Day twice!

No, but they'll be getting their presents from Grandma on Christmas Eve to save her transporting them to ours on Christmas Day (they're more relevant to her house than ours)

We don't deliberately save any presents but we see different people at different times so presents get spread out that way

We see different parts of the family on Boxing Day and so presents are given in both days. However, as DS gets so many I spread them out over the next few days as otherwise it is too overwhelming for him. I also like spreading mine out!

We'll be visiting my nan tomorrow so any presents dd gets then she can open, I'm planning on letting her open her presents under the tree at her own pace on Christmas morning after breakfast (she's not quite two yet so I don't think she'll be in a mad rush to open everything) and then we're visiting my brother on boxing day so she'll have presents there too

FC and one set of grandparents on Christmas Day, other set on Boxing Day, some other presents from other friends and relatives left at our home and opened once we return from Christmas travels. Much less overwhelming and spreads out the pleasure.

We allow a stocking free-for-all, but are quite ceremonial with the tree presents. They get opened one at a time, each person taking a turn, and we don't move on to the next present until each present has been admired by all and played with/worn/used. So we end up spreading the presents over at least two days, sometimes more. Plus, of course, there are the presents from relatives that we visit between CD and NY, which are opened at the relatives' houses.

One year we tried letting the dc open all their presents whenever they wanted. It was a disaster. A huge wrapping paper frenzy, ending up with disappointed, emotionally crashed children.

I have a couple of smallish presents that I was going to save for Boxing Day - something for the children to give to each other, plus a small gift from dc to me and OH.

Yes, we see my extended family on Boxing Day and do those presents then. We also save any other presents from non family at those times.

DC don't get their main gift (from me) until Boxing day. It started by accident when they were small and got overwhelmed by so much on one day. Also as we usually go to DMs for lunch and have tree presents afterwards, it saved on transporting them all over there, just to bring back (plus more) in the evening.
