Were do all the letters to FC end up?

Ds2 ran in in a panic last night clutching his letter to Father Christmas that we hadn't posted, and I calmed him by saying FC knows what you have written as soon as the pencil forms the word on the paper, it's part of the magic. DS2 bought this totally but we will post it later today anyway...

Which got me thinking, where do the letters actually end up? As I assume they will all have proper stamps on them, surely that's legal tender and RMG have an obligation to send them somewhere? But surely they don't go all the way to actual Lapland...

I asked DH this and he laughed at me (FC isn't actually real Blossom) but I wondered if anyone actually knew....

I think the Royal Mail use them to compile a list of 'most asked for' presents.

And then bin them.

I didn't put stamps on ours, I just assumed RM chucked them.m

If your letter has the postcode SAN TA1 it goes to some poor underpaid apprentice who reads it and then writes a reply.

Other than that, recycling bin?
