1st year of doing Elf on the Shelf and I would like him to leave the children their Xmas Eve Hampers when he leaves ( I'm so mumsnet!). Does anyone have any examples of goodbye letters which explain this. The ones I've found online don't mention gifts. Thanks

I used one the first year which started,

"One last treat / gift before I go
Tonight is Christmas Eve, you know"

It reminds me of the Robert Frost poem about snowy woods Xmas Smile

Dear DC,

One last treat before I go.

Tonight is Christmas Eve you know

Here are presents just for you.

I will really miss you two.

Remember to be good each day

When you eat and sleep and play

Santa's watching all you do

and will send me back to you.

I will return again next year

Bringing with me Christmas cheer.

Thanks ashes, that's perfect. I have two DCs as well so won't need to muck up the rhyme!

The first year we had her, ours left a picture of herself waving good-bye from the top of the pile of presents that Santa had left (printed by me from my computer) DD loved it as she then had a picture to remember her by. Could you take a picture atop the hamper before hand and include it with the note?
