Hello, I have two DDS, aged 5 and 2.8.
I was thinking of buying them some Playmobil for Christmas. The only thing we have so far is the Princess carry case which they both carry around and play with.

What would you recommend wise MNers? I was considering maybe the Fairy carry case and something else either princess or fairy related but not sure what is good. I could spend up to around £60.

The camper can is most excellent. And the fire engine.

Farm is amazing, and the manor house, which you can add to over the years.

The take along dollhouse is good.

My recommendations are that the people and animals and a few of the bits (but not the teeny tiny bits) get played with the most. We have several big farm sets, petting zoo, a cave with cave people and mammoths, small camping set, princess and pirate take a long and a play ground, and she never plays with all the big farm buildings, houses and fences or the bigger playground pieces. She plays with all the animals and people tonnes but that's mostly it. The take a long she says don't have enough to play with. I'd bulk up your collection with lots of small people and animals if possible. So several dollhouse sets would be much better than getting the big dollhouse and one small furnishing set. Or several small wildlife sets would be better than getting the wildlife care station. A few individual animal zoo sets better than getting the full zoo enclosures.

I have DDs your age and have, for the first time, bought some Playmobil for this Christmas - mainly the fairy/princess stuff (that's what the eldest is into).

So far I have the following:
Carry along unicorn case and several smaller kits Fairy carry on case, Aquarella Unicorn set, Princess Anniversary set and another similar set, can't remember now which it is but it's from the fairy range.

I have bought the swimming pool for DD2 for her 3rd birthday next March. It may be too young for her but she likes water so I figured they could play with it on the patio when the weather is warmer.

I would agree (even though I have no actual experience) with the PP who said get smaller kits. We already have a doll's house and I think the fairies will probably end up in there!

We got Noah's ark for dd for christmas . As she hasn't seen it yet I can't comment on it's success but to me it looks great!

We have a fair bit of Playmobil, though none of the princess or fairy sets.

If I was going to get something fairy-themed for my 2 girls (who are slightly older) I would get them the unicorn or winged horse carriage (one each, then they could each have something similar but different, and play with them together) and also the pink fairy boat. They would both absolutely love a horse and carriage. And playmobil boats are great because they float, you can play with them in the bath, or the paddling pool.

I agree with what's been said above, animals and figures get played with a lot - but my DC also play with playmobil vehicles a great deal too, I actually think that the vehicles probably provide the best play value, with my kids at least.
