Board games for small children?

We're starting to put together our own family Christmas traditions, and one I'd really like is no TV! I vaguely remember we used to play board games and cards when I was a kid once we were getting bored of our presents.

Thing is, DD is 2.9. She is very quiet and lives to join in with the grown ups so does anyone know whether there are any board games or family games we could play? She's fairly bright but not gifted!

We used to play a game called 'The house that Jack built' it was a bit like a beetle drive, I believe it was a Galt one.

For next year, maybe Frustration or Sorry! both of which were firm favourites here.

Simple games like Ludo are good too.

Funny Bunny. I got it for DS at that age and we still sometimes play it.

Hundred percent orchard games I'm a huge fan of them, easy to play and fairly quick too! Not sure if it's still on but tesco had all their orchard games on offer last week.

We have a Big Bad Mouse (from the Gruffalo) board game. DD got it for her third birthday, but could have manged to play it when younger. She needs to be able to count to 3 only. It's also not too boring for the adults. Dominoes also worked last Christmas when she was 2.8

I reckon DD could manage snap especially as Peppa Pig plays it! I think Ludo sounds quite hard for little'uns though. All that waiting just to get to the end of the board
