We had a £5 budget - do I blow it?!

My boyfriend is very skint at the moment and he suggested a £5 budget on each other's present for Xmas. I have already bought him something for the £5 but have now seen something else for £15 that I know he'd like, and he needs. I can afford it and want to buy it.
Do I blow the £5 budget and risk him feeling bad if he's stuck to £5 for me?

No, it would make him feel uncomfortable and it's not in the spirit of your budget agreement.

But if he needs it anyway,

Posted too soon..,

But if he needs it anyway, you could buy it and find a reason to give it to him at another time.

You could get it anyway and give it to him some time other than Christmas Day. Or else lie to him and tell him you got it dirt cheap?!

I've since found out he's spent nearer to 15 on me, so if I buy the extra gift it'll only be a fiver more, going to go for it Smile

Could you keep the other thing? Or return it? Then it's fairer Smile
