It actually felts, it doesn't sew. Have you read the reviews? Shocking. If you break the needle, which is very likely then that's it, game over. Can't be fixed or needle changed. I was gonna get one but I can see how quickly it could all go wrong!

lucysmam · 08/12/2014 22:24

I haven't read the reviews, only clicked because I thought it might have been good for my seven (almost 8) yr old who is starting to show an interest in my machine.

I'll skip it & think about showing her how to work mine when I eventually upgrade to a better one.

Katinkka · 08/12/2014 22:36

The reviews aren't good and you have to buy more of the special fabric. Maybe there are better things out there.

lucysmam · 08/12/2014 22:47

The extra fabric looks quite pricey too. One of the reviews said the child made all 9(?) projects in one afternoon, plus her own stuff. If that's the case, I can see it being one of those things that's hardly used because it's expensive to keep up with.

John lewis (you can do a click and collect at a local waitrose)
Toys 4 us -if not in stock. They will send you a text/email when they get them.

trixymalixy · 09/12/2014 20:36

Agh, I hadn't read the reviews! It's the only thing DD has asked for though. Might try to buy from John Lewis as they are good at returns.

Would she maybe go for a cheap, proper machine and some fabrics? Minewas only £29.99 from Netto years ago but you can probably get them around that on Argos.

lucysmam · 09/12/2014 21:07

*Mine was. Sorry, I can't type very well on the tablet Blush

ygritte · 09/12/2014 21:12

My DD wanted one but the refills are expensive and I decided against it as it seemed more of a toy. Instead I bought her a mini sewing machine for £12.50!! from Hobbycraft today. It's currently half price and I think it'll have more use.
