Secret Santa. I want to give a really mean gift.

During the year we all got to nominate a charity to raise money for on a fun day at work. My charity was drawn Smile

She openly slagged my charity off as not worthy, turned a few around in the team who on the day declined to join in with the fun and games (she is a team supervisor) and stop a decent amount being raised.

I want to give her a laminated certificate, her gift is my donation of £5 to said charity.

I will donate the £5, she will know it is me. My question is it will probably taint secret Santa this year so should I do it? Would you?

no. but i would be tempted to get an Oxfam toilet...

bakingtins · 24/11/2014 22:39

No. It's Christmas. Be the bigger person.

CurlyWurlyCake · 24/11/2014 22:39

I thought about a goat.

Didn't know I could get a toilet...

Sponsor a goat ( or even better,a pig) in her name and give her a picture of it Grin

CurlyWurlyCake · 24/11/2014 22:41

Oh I know bakingtins she really hurt my feelings about my little charity Sad

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 22:43

Yes, do it!!!

Oxfam-type gift would also mean she only gets a piece of paper but it wouldn't be as specific. You could give her one of those third world cow gifts Grin but I think they cost more

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 22:45

She tainted the fun day in a massive way. She deserves a little personal taint back, Christmas spirit or not

itiswhatitiswhatitis · 24/11/2014 22:47

What charity did you pick

PurplePidjin · 24/11/2014 22:48

or £5 of mills and boone from a charity shop - bonus points for buying them from the shop of "your" charity Wink

itiswhatitiswhatitis · 24/11/2014 22:48

Buy her this

bakingtins · 24/11/2014 22:50

I'm not disputing she's a big meanie. Tell you what, you be magnanimous and buy her something nice, and I will sponsor you to do that by giving £5 to your charity. PM me the details (or post them, maybe others would also donate) Wink

CurlyWurlyCake · 24/11/2014 22:51

Yes yes yes.

I love the oxfam cow idea and more than prepared to pay over the odds.

Although I don't care that she knows it was from me for my nominated charity. I would take great joy in looking her in the eye with a smile.

But SS isn't about me and my one and only chance to get back at her...

CurlyWurlyCake · 24/11/2014 22:57

Still tempted by the oxfam pig picture though so I will have to let you know Grin

IDismyname · 24/11/2014 23:06

Only on MN would you get such a genius idea as this.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 24/11/2014 23:08

I've never seen the semen straw before!

How absolutely completely perfect Grin

MarthaCostello · 24/11/2014 23:09

I saw a poster for toilet twinning in a service station a few weeks ago. You get a certificate for your bathroom and the charity builds a toilet in an area with poor sanitation. But I expect it costs more than a fiver.

Otherwise you could buy something really hideous and tacky for use at work, so she will have to display it on her desk every day.

MarthaCostello · 24/11/2014 23:10

Sloooow typing as always. The cow semen is perfect. You could print out a large laminated photo of the insemination process for her.

CurlyWurlyCake · 24/11/2014 23:17

I love you neat of vipers lot Thanks

Glad you all like it, not my idea, was from here on one of the secret Santa threads. I've got mine already, you get a Christmas card (I got the cow one) you can add a message inside, a picture of a calf with the text from the webpage and a sherbet straw all in a plain envelope inside the envelope it's sent in.

Hope it goes down ok.

ChippingInAutumnLover · 24/11/2014 23:26

What a cow - I think something for a cow somewhere would be perfect!

What charity did you choose?

I donated to the RDA the other day off the back of a thread where the OP was actually critiscising them :)

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 24/11/2014 23:30

What was the charity though?

Was it Samaritan's Purse?
