Advice-Christmas for DS when separated

I'm just looking for some advice really.
Background info: Myself and DS dad split last year. DS is spending Christmas Eve with his dad :0( (I had him last year so only fair). I'm going to go to exes house Christmas morning to see son for a coupes of hours before going to DP's parents for lunch, then picking DS up at teatime.
My question is, should I do presents from myself and my half if the family when DS comes home (my concern is that were going to my brothers in the evening so he won't get much time to play and present opening could e rushed) or leave everything until Boxing Day and pretty much do Christmas Day all over again? Family could still give DS their gifts when they see him Christmas Day night. My worry if I do this, is thg I may ruin the Santa Claus this for DS who has just turned three. I don't know what to do for the best!?!

Could you not arrange for all the presents from you to be at his dads for him to open on xmas morning? That way he gets a whole day of playing with them.

I hadn't thought of that as an option actually. Only issue will be the logistics of getting it all there without him seeing, and then getting it all back home. It won't all fit in the car :-s

Leave the presents from your family at home for him. You could always take a few smaller ones/his favourite to your brothers when you go. Its what we did for DSD when she was younger and it never caused problems with her believing in Santa.

We do similar for our DCs now in that they get presents from us on Christmas Day and presents from DHs family on Boxing Day when we see them. We just tell then that the presents are from auntie X so Santa brought them to her house to give them. They still believe in Santa and have a great time.

It doesn't matter about not having much time to play with the new toys on Christmas Day as they have the rest of the holidays to play with them
all day.
