Right. Who's coming round for Christmas and what are you bringing?

I usually do Christmas by myself, and that is fine. However I've just read the "Christmas recipes" bit of a Sunday paper and want to cook everything.

So who wants to come and what will you bring?

I'll bring a kilkner jar of Damson gin. For fancy company I might have decanted it into a bottle, but I feel this calls for the while jar.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 18/11/2014 19:57

Ah I flipping love damson gin. You didn't sell it at a farmers market recently did you? I bought some and it was amazing.

ChubbyKitty · 19/11/2014 04:00

My mil makes cracking roast beef.

I do not. But I can bring some lovely dauphinois potatoes and I'm a whizz with pork loin steaks too if I do say so myself

I have the Have I Got News For You board game. No one will play with me here Sad

SteveBrucesNose · 19/11/2014 04:41

I can offer a very nice bottle of brandy for after dinner drinks, a cheeseboard, and a trough of my special homemade chilli for Boxing Day tea when everyone's bored shitless of leftover Christmas food.

And I shall bring my hangover with me, as that's customary for me on Christmas morning!

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/11/2014 08:58

This is sounding wonderful. Can someone whip up some crossiants for breakfast?

I'll bring some home made-
Chilli jam
Piccalilli
Tomato relish

Also some lovely olives, some gorgeous cheddar cheese from my friend the cheese maker and really nice focaccia, with lots of olive oil, sea salt and caramelised onions on top.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/11/2014 12:37

This all sounds wonderful. I'm a little bit sad that I won't actually be eating all of this!

Anyone want to bring crackers?

OP posts:
Allalonenow · 19/11/2014 12:48

We will need Yorkshire Pudding if we are having beef, it is the law!
If you've got some eggs Caulk i'll make it when I get there.

Also red cabbage and horseradish sauce are delicious with beef.

DamselNotInHerDress · 19/11/2014 13:25

I'm bringing prawn cocktail complete with shredded iceberg lettuce as you utter heathens seem to have overlooked it Grin
And then some cherry brandy that my neighbour makes and then brings round as he doesn't like it!

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/11/2014 13:40

Yep I've got eggs. The oven isn't huge and the numbers have all been rubbed off due to an over enthusiastic cleaner some years back. Hope that doesn't matter to anyone. We've got a thermometer in there though!
