For those looking for geeky present ideas, I have often found this site an inspiration: www.thinkgeek.com It is an American site so the shipping can be quite expensive, but if you see something suitable you can try searching for same from UK sites.

This year however, DH is getting posh shoes and DF is getting cinema vouchers. DS is only 2, so he's still easy to buy for!

HellKitty · 20/11/2014 07:53

It's just my OH so I'm thinking a new Vivienne Westwood wallet, slip on black Vans (which I'll pimp), and then I'm stuck Confused

Pos1 · 20/11/2014 11:27

Minninbel - thanks. I may get him one. He used to run but his working hours have increased for a few months so having trouble getting out. Is a fitbit one the best to get?

Some fantastic ideas here - I'm definitely getting my friend some marmite chocolate!

My shopping so far:

DH - "Labragility" T Shirt (he competes at Dog Agility with our Lab), the new 24 DVD box set, tracksuit bottoms (for agility) and I'll do a stocking with various bits and bobs (including one of those Key finder whistle things). Also loving the idea of a snork!

DDad - 6X Hamper - it's his favourite drink and I've ordered some 6X Fruit Cake, 6X Preserves etc from the brewery.

Best Friend - in to Geocaching so probably something to do with that.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 20/11/2014 13:38

DH = a 'Secrid' wallet. I'd recommend them actually if anyone needs ideas. He hates big clunky wallets, and these ones are slim leather, teeny and have all sorts of compartments and bits that pull out for cards, notes etc. A gadgety wallet if you like :)

Dad = fancy whiskey & probably a novelty present of some sort

Brother = No bloody idea

BIL = signed football shirt

BIL2 = No idea!

xBlueberry88x · 20/11/2014 16:16

watching I never know what to buy my dp

gemdrop84 · 20/11/2014 16:24

I bought a satchel for dh, he starts a new job in January so thought that will come in handy, then I wanted to get a little something to go inside it. I ended up buying an iPad off a friend, he likes using his dad's when we visit. Although we've just literally had a conversation about Christmas and he said he doesn't want anything from me.... Uh oh! What do I do now?! Dd and Ds have got him a little Lego star wars set and a star wars flask.

Bringonthesunshineplease · 21/11/2014 14:02

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 21/11/2014 22:33

Marking place for the week before xmas when I am in a panic Grin

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 21/11/2014 22:34

DH - fish preparation course at Billingsgate and a box of quirky charity shop books collected secretly over the year (Got this idea from MN) - he'll get a stocking too. I am on mat leave so that's it.

DBIL - cheese club membership
DBIL2 - god knows - he likes
NOTHING - maybe a wallet or a home brew kit...

godfather - Heston chocs from waitrose

Cousin - hip hop cookery book (in joke)

Teen nephews - jar of retro sweets also containing iTunes vouchers and mini tools

Hmm - I seem to have a food theme going on...

WestEast · 21/11/2014 22:37

DP - bungee jumping day with a dirty night in a b&b, game of life, jumper, couple of books

Step dad - food, not sure what yet, but am pretty much guaranteed to make him happy if gift is edible.

HappydaysArehere · 21/11/2014 22:37

Always tend to fall back on stocking idea (or sometimes it's a sack) for DH. Trouble this year it is really difficult. He is not interested in technology, Keeps saying he doesn't want any more clothes. He has got watches, electric razors, loads of shaving and after shave stuff. Have bought him loads of books, everyone buys him nice whiskeys which he never gets through, he loves gardening but doesn't want tools. So around the shops I go looking for something great and unusual! My sil is just as difficult although he likes technology and I gave him a Game token for his recent birthday. I tunes card a stand by but he complains the family use them. It's my DH who is the problem. Confused

JingleSpud · 22/11/2014 09:05

DH has got a popcorn maker, batman watch, Ultimate star wars guide, lynx set and the game her wants.

ladydepp · 22/11/2014 15:55

DB - tradition is a buy him a new jumper every year, I get him a crew neck one from Woolovers - he loved the one I got last year, they are really good quality and about £35 (less with a promo code). He also needs some things for his bike. I often buy him books, he prefers non-fiction so Alex's adventures in Numberland or similar

DH - very tricky - might get him a new Fitbit Charge, Rapha bike stuff goes down well (v expensive but he is lovely Smile), he always wants pants and socks and he likes Molton Brown eucalyptus shower gel so might get some of that too. He likes nice wine so might get him a bottle or two.

I am having vague thoughts about getting him some sort of neon sign as he seems to like those, but no idea where it would go in our house or where I would buy it.....

Just remembered I bought him a cast iron bird for the garden from Cox and Cox, hope he likes it!

Oh and a Rugby World cup t-shirt for 2015, I also bought one each for my DS's.

happsymum · 23/11/2014 03:17

Tondelayo... can u tell me more about the cheese club membership? Might b something for my partner!

Fantail · 23/11/2014 04:12

DH - wool cap, satchel bag for work, Hunger Games book set, Scandal Season 4 on DVD, boxers (multipack from ASOS) ice cream club membership

DB - tortilla press & warmer ( he is a foodie, so very easy)

DF - Bernard Cornwell's new book on Battle of Waterloo

DBIL - Yonanas or something for BBQ or Wiggle vouchers

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 23/11/2014 21:26

Wallet Ninja! am crap at links so best to Google it - they are a credit card-sized multi-tool and look brilliant. most places have them at about 7 quid but i found some on amazon for 1.99 - just waiting to see if they turn up Smile.

Thought i would just get one for each male but am going to give one to everyone Grin

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 23/11/2014 22:19

happsymum

There are quite a few if you google - e.g. The Cheese Society. BIL is getting the Cheshire Cheese Company one which is at the more budget end Grin

HappydaysArehere · 24/11/2014 17:41

Dingit, I love the painting and so will your uncle. What did you use? Is it acrylic or oils? Perhaps it's watercolour or gouache. Bet it is given pride of place and makes his Christmas. Well done.
