Just that really.....

DH: a nespresso and a band scarf (cost €50 bloody euros but he really wants it). Mil getting him some drill bits, he always likes tools
DDad: still don't know, hence clicked on this thread for inspiration!

By the way, DH is often bought 'fancy beers' as he likes a pint of bitter but he almost always doesn't enjoy the novelty ones, they're usually too strong (they end up in casseroles)

annielostit · 19/11/2014 17:40

Dh wants a wallet and a bar of chocolate off the Sainsbury advert.

Davros · 19/11/2014 17:47

Dingit that painting is brilliant

AlphaBravoHenryFoxtons · 19/11/2014 17:48

Dingit - What a gorgeous and thoughtful present.

I'm getting DH an iPhone 6 but I don't know whether to get the monster large 'Plus' version or the normal iPhone 6?

ohtheholidays · 19/11/2014 17:59

So far all I've bought my DH is some aftershave. He has got to be the most difficult man to buy along side my Dad and his Dad.He has no hobbies, can't eat chocolate, his football team are miles and miles away so impossible to sort football tickets for him.I have no idea what to buy any of the 3 men I have to buy for this year.

ohtheholidays · 19/11/2014 18:00

Dingit that painting is so lovely.I'm sure it will be his best present ever.

FluffyRedSocks · 19/11/2014 18:02

Dingit that's amazing!!
My dp has a brewery pass, and some bitty bits
My db has some jack Daniels and bitty bits.. Mainly here for inspiration!!

fatpony · 19/11/2014 18:03

Gosh you are all very generous. DH is getting a photo book with all our travel photos...and maybe a bottle of malt if he's lucky!

curiousgeorgie · 19/11/2014 18:06

DH is getting a PS4, cluedo (a private joke)... Some clothes and a silver Daddy keyring from the DD's.

DF has a few DVD box sets, a jumper, a hamper of sweets and a grandad mug DD1 designed...

DFIL - a chess set. (He's been so excited to teach the GC to play so that's from them) and we got him antiques books.

DB1 - a movie night hamper with all our favourite films from childhood and a popcorn maker, throw etc.

DB2 - board games and clothes.

DN3 - just got back from Florida and he's Simpsons obsessed so have made him a basket of stuff from Springfield in universal studios. Clothes, duff beer frosted tankard, duff beer, a Blinky soft toy, cooking stuff, slippers, apron. It looks great!!

pot39 · 19/11/2014 18:07

Not much actually, not much money and all their birthdays are close to Christmas.

My fave BIL (I have about 6!) is getting a personalised OS Map.

DS's underwear and socks in stocking + somethings they ask for. (Well trained not to even mention Christmas till Dec 1st)

DH-dunno, just been away with him and DS's for his 50th birthday.
Another BiL is getting some weighing and fitness scales that we bought in Lidl and then discovered they were a massive faff, but he'll like it.

The several thousand nephews I have, will get clothing/lego/CD's DVD's

...what a beautiful pic

I was going to type something 'witty', but the moment passed...

secretsquirrels · 19/11/2014 18:15

I have bought a Fractals calendar for DS1, a calender with photos of elements on for DS2 and an Escher Calender for DH.
Also science poster for DS1 and Walking Dead poster for DS2. "Baking Bad" apron for DH.
USB pencil sharpener for DS2 (a big hit last year with DS1)
Anker power pack for DS1 these are brilliant.

I am struggling for any big presents though.

Pos1 · 19/11/2014 18:16

thanks all for the contributions. So far for my DF I've got a daylight reading lamp as he's getting older but still loves to read. My DB is getting a subscription to a magazine and my DH is getting a dressing gown....its him I'm struggling with at the moment.....

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 19/11/2014 18:24

Dh has a mug and some bird cards by Edwin Collins, a Postcard record t shirt and a new watch. I may be scoring an iPod classic for him. Ds 1, an ipod, booze, ds 2 and 3 ps4 games, booze and smellies.

Pos1 · 19/11/2014 18:27

has anyone got a fitbit? wondering about that.....

OP posts:
Pollywallywinkles · 19/11/2014 18:45

I'm really struggling with what to get DH. I've got him some smellies and a cookery book which he asked for. I have about £50 left to spend, but goodness knows on what.

He doesn't need new clothes, sporting equipment, gadgets. He doesn't want alcohol. He had a new wallet last year. I'm kind of stumped.

MN164 · 19/11/2014 19:28

If I was married to me (!), I'd consider these:

www.stormsight.co.uk/posters.html

www.team-sport.co.uk

privateeye.subscribeonline.co.uk/subscription

www.raspberrypi.org

www.drizaboneclothing.co.uk/men-s/driza-bone-original-wax-full-length-coat

www.aeropress.co.uk

Now to the important question. What shall I buy the person I am actually married to?.......

RedToothBrush · 19/11/2014 19:44

For anyone who is into outdoor activities try www.alpkit.com

I'd recommend the torches/lanterns in particular. They do a smaller size too. The head torches are also very good.

ababycalledbrian · 19/11/2014 19:52

Watching hopefully for inspiration. My DH is so far likely to be getting a home brew kit.

RedToothBrush · 19/11/2014 20:07

If you don't want to buy all the gear for a homebrew kit (it can get quite expensive) you might want to try one of the moonshine home brew kits (available through www.lakeland.co.uk). I think they were on Dragon's Den not too long ago.

Book choices, I'd recommend Guy Martin's Autobiography.

DH also loves Nanoblocks (miniature lego).

RedToothBrush · 19/11/2014 20:12

Oh and for geeks another book:

What If: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions

Its by the writers of the online comic xkcd. Ideal for any computer programmer/scientist types out there.

cunexttuesonline · 19/11/2014 20:15
