I'm pride myself on giving good gifts, I really do put thought and effort into it, but I've always really struggled for DH!

Anyone fancy helping me brainstorm? He has his birthday near Christmas too so I need two gifts as well.

So,
*He works in music so has all music-related equipment and gets given things like headphones, gig tickets through work.

*Spends the rest of his time playing golf - I've previously bought him tickets for The Open, and golf psychology books, practice nets thingys and the like. I wouldn't buy him golf clothes as I'd probably buy the wrong kind. One year he chose himself new clubs as his Christmas present from me.

*Doesn't cook, not interested in fine wines or anything like that.

*Travels a lot with work and whereas I'd jump at the chance to have a city break or something, he's sick of planes and hates 'looking at buildings' (AKA sight seeing Grin ). He has all the luggage he needs

*Doesn't really read much

*Not interested in fashion or men's beauty products, doesn't like watches

*Definitely no novelty gifts!

erm..........

What the hell else is there?? There's nothing else is there?!

7 course tasting menu at nice restaurant / night away with you?

What about making up a golf hamper. Some new balls/tees, the ball finder goggles, golf mug, new golf hat/glove, shoes/socks etc?

If he likes vodka, masters of malt website (there may be others but I've used this one & they're good) do different types of vodka (& gin, rum, whiskey etc), so you might get an unusual bottle on there for him to try. They also do miniatures of a lot of the bottles they sell, so you could buy an assortment of miniatures with a voucher for him to but a large bottle of his fave.

If you live near London or can get there, there's something called Hint Hunt (again there's other companies but this is one I remember the name of). Have a look at their website cos what they do looks pretty cool. They also get great reviews on a Trip Advisor.

Don't just look at his golf shoes, poke some holes in them, then you KNOW he would appreciate new ones Wink

I know you send he goes abroad a lot but I doubt he has much time to look round and shop ? Could you look on foreign websites.
My Dads hobby has much better choice of stuff brought from Scandi counteries or the States. Perhaps a magazine subscription from foreign climes?

evelynj · 18/11/2014 23:52

Aargh, was going to say beer52.com subscription. Fancy vodka selection box & few days away where he can play golf? (Northern Ireland is great ;)

Google goggles for a stocking filler & some great travel items or few ready packed plastic carry on bags for plane. MacBook accessories?

I want an adult maxi scooter for dh now if anyone sees a bargain ;)

So difficult, I'm struggling for my partner so watching this thread eagerly.

The only ideas can think of for you would be-

Tickets to a theatre - les miserables was prob my a favourite gift from - we'd watched the movie 6 times in the cinema. I blubbed my way through it each and every time

Tickets to a concert - sadly kanye west isnt touring or would be a gift i'd be doing this year.

A go pro camera? might be good for his job too (if doesnt have already)

Achica and a few other websites ive seen have lindt chocolate golf balls for about 3.50 (novelty though)

Virgin experience day - segway day - boyfriend speaks of this present his sister got him years ago still today.

Im looking at doing a cheese hamper this year too as a desperation gift I am REALLY struggling to buy for him this year we dont do it often but I know he loves biscuits and cheeses (just have to ask his mother which she used to do as she does the best apparently)

ooh, ideas still coming in, thank you all!

He doesn't drink coffee (weirdo), not into theatre, I'll think about the scooter!

waitingonasunnyday I like your style Grin

I'll have a look at foreign shops, could be interesting.

I think one of his pressies might be the golf lesson with a pro thing and maybe some golfy bits as suggested.

BUT happysmum I really like the Go Pro idea! he makes little films with the kids and stuff, so this could be a goer Flowers
