Coffee... Wow that is amazing! We have one an hour away... I must be due a trip!

sweetkitty · 18/11/2014 20:39

Don't say that about the Body Shop, the 35% off plus free gift made a better offer than 40% off as the free gift was worth £13 on its own. Depends what you are buying I suppose.

marne2 · 18/11/2014 20:43

I used the code for 35% off but not sure if it added the free gift, will have to wait and see if it comes, got some lovely bits for my mum for Christmas though.

riskit4abiskit · 18/11/2014 20:44

gutted I missed the toot toot animals - the bloody monkey is my ds's favourite thing in the world although it drives me to murder

Reastie · 18/11/2014 20:45

Right, I have a tricky request for present ideas. An older woman (in 80s) who has Alzheimer's. In a home. Doesn't recognise friends or family, doesn't like food. Isn't at all with it enough to have any interests. Doesn't have any memory of anything really, and has a relatively low quality of life in a not that great care home. Care home provide all necessities. Apparently she likes things with bright colours. Any ideas of anything I could get her? I'm completely stumped on this one.

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 18/11/2014 20:50

I know! My last post looked really calm (it's all in the name) but I'm gutted!

imip · 18/11/2014 20:51

Lava lamp is good, or fish?

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 18/11/2014 20:51

Reastie, my friend's mum was similar, she got her really nice cotton nighties and slippers.

IAlreadyToldYou · 18/11/2014 20:52

Thanks for the heads up coffee, sounds amazing. will check it out tomorrow after work (hopefully it won't all be gone by then!).

butterflymum · 18/11/2014 20:53

Baconsandwichandacupoftea · 18/11/2014 20:53

TOYTUESDAY for Disney does give good bargains, dress set as Notso says, also the 11 doll Princess set down from £110 to £62 ish with 25% then extra 24% off.

SasOn · 18/11/2014 20:56

Reastie what about one of those window bird boxes linked a few threads back so she can watch the birds?

Reastie · 18/11/2014 20:57

Fabulous ideas, thank you so much. Knew you'd give me a fresh outlook on this. Thanks

Keepcalmanddrinkwine this has happened to a couple of friends of mine coincidentally after having their details nicked both at different petrol stations one of them a morrisons pay at pump!

TwigletLola · 18/11/2014 21:01

Reastie - here is a bird feeder that attached to the window so they would get nice and close for her to see: m.clasohlson.com/uk/Bird-Feeder/31-5434

How about a soft fleecy blanket and some bright cushions for her bed or sofa if she's got one. Maybe a nice tealight holder and some electric tealights so she gets the comforting flicker but they aren't dangerous. I think you can get electric burners, like oil burners but they don't need flames which might make her room feel more cosy.

TwigletLola · 18/11/2014 21:02

I haven't seen that bird feeder in person but they have a bigger one in store in the shape of a house for £9.99 that I'm getting for my (very spoilt) indoor cats as their Christmas present this year!

LucyTheValiant · 18/11/2014 21:19

What is the O2 whsmiths calendar thing? My priority moments app keeps crashing as soon as I open it!

SneakretSanta · 18/11/2014 21:19

DM has finally after much pushing announced that what she would like for Christmas is a foot spa. She almost never makes specific requests so would like to oblige, but budget is massively stretched- anybody spotted any good deals?

MulberryPeony · 18/11/2014 21:22

Not sure if it has been mentioned in a previous thread but Quidco are doing a Christmas special where you get £50 cashback (on top of the normal rates) by shopping at 12 participating retailers.

ninjaturtlesmum · 18/11/2014 21:29

Hi Reastie, I work with people with dementia. It might sound a bit odd but how about a cuddly rabbit. Often people with dementia like to hold something and fiddle. This would have a soft texture which would stimulate her sense of touch and would also have long ears that she could fiddle with. Also at times this can bring back a memory of being in a caring role for example being a mum and can bring back memories of loving and being loved to the person with dementia (even those very advanced). It can bring a sense of purpose and a role to that person which can in turn improve self esteem! Eek sorry to be a bit serious - am passionate about dementia. Hope that helps! :-)

enderwoman · 18/11/2014 21:31

Reastie-something that feels nice to the touch comes to mind. What about a sweater, throw, socks sort of thing?
