24 Christmas activities

I want to get a material advent calendar and fill it with an activity a day to do with my 3 year old ds (and 7 month old sister) in the run up to the big day. So, inspire me!

I got 11yr old and 2 yr old ideas so far are, picnic by tree lights , sleep under the tree, drive round to look at light displays, movie day, santa visit, salt dough craft day, snow day if we get any, buy special tree ornament for family member, glo light bath night xx

Bake cookies,
Make paper chains and snowflakes,
Watch a Christmas film,
Go for a walk in a national park wrapped up warm,
See a local am dram panto,
Make a gingerbread house,
Wrap up and take an evening walk to see fairy lights in the area,
Visit a local Christmas fair,

I can't link to it because I am on my phone at the moment, but I will bump it for you though. It has lots of ideas.

Make tea light lanterns. Cover and old jam jar with tissue paper and draw on it once dry. Put a battery tea light in and its done. We're going to make some with white tissue paper and draw a scarf and eyes on and pair the lid black to make snowmen lights.

Make window stickers. Search on Pinterest for Christmas kids crafts and its called doodle glue (I think) its pva glue and food colouring.

Pinterest will give you load of easy ideas.

Go and visit the reindeer at the garden centre (if they have them at yours!).

Christmas painting.

Go shopping to buy a present for dad/gran/auntie, and wrap it up in brown paper which DS has decorated.

Have a Christmas party

See a movie (maybe Paddington?)

I'm going to add crafty stuff too and put chocolate coins and little bits in each hole.

Have got them a christmas lush bath bomb each so one is to have a Christmas bath.
North pole breakfast for the first
Make tea light holders out of the many few Gü pots I've collected over the year .
Go for a walk to look at Christmas lights
Park to collect pine cones
Cinema- wanted to watch a Christmassy movie but Nativity doesn't do it for me so will have to be paddington... And a meal afterwards.
Make paper snowflakes for thr panels of glass on the living room door.
Salt dough tree decorations
Bake pretzel reindeer buns
Reading Christmas books
We watch a different Christmas movie and bake something different every day regardless...

You could make those marshmallow snowmen - marshmallows for body & head, matchmaker chocolate for arms, liquorice string for scarf, etc. We made them last yr and for dd frozen party but they are everywhere this year , even on the cover if the free recipe booklet/gift catalogue from Sainsbury.
Also we do a walk to look at all the lights up in the neighbourhood, go to several Carol services, read favourite Christmas stories, make cards or gift tags. You could also have a Christmas scavenger hunt/bingo especially good if you need to take them somewhere awkward like the shops or trip to a relative. Basically they spot things from a list (you can use pictures) like Christmas tree in a shop window, flashing fairy lights, decoration on a roof, wreath on a door, car with tinsel on its aerial, a fairy, an elf, a Santa, etc.
