Peter Andre

LoveVintage · 14/11/2014 15:12

Dang, should have been more obtuse.

I was going to suggest Simon Cowell although he is more like scrooge so can't imagine him switching on the lights....

Piffpaffpoff · 14/11/2014 15:19

And it's caused uproar....

LoveVintage · 14/11/2014 15:34

I am not surprised, I thought they would have learned after getting Mark Wright last year! Why can't they just get someone local to do it. Would it really make that much difference to the turnout?

Boney M are performing on Tay St too, as well as having the chocolate festival... I was planning on going with DM to the chocolate festival, but Perth is going to be pretty packed with the orange wonder there me thinks

clr2014 · 14/11/2014 17:15

We get the Singing Kettle!! Pfft!

Redcoats · 14/11/2014 17:23

OP you re the worst clue giver ever Smile

I'm quite jealous though, we don't have an official switching on, they just come on.

Lilacflower · 14/11/2014 17:28

I love that article - dumbing down of the city GrinGrinGrinGrin

LoveVintage · 14/11/2014 17:52

See, the words chocolate festival would be enough to get me to Perth for the day. Instead they give you, at no doubt enormously expense bloody Insania and a badly mimed Mary's Boy Child.

Piffpaffpoff · 14/11/2014 18:04

I may have to go to the chocolate festival. Only if I can avoid The Orange One though.

PureMorning · 14/11/2014 18:13

We have Danny Mac and carley Stevens from hollyoaks
(Never heard of them) and music from Ray Quinn.

I will stay in and watch strictly.

ConsiderablyBiggerBuns · 14/11/2014 20:06

Please all count yourselves lucky - we got Chico (off of crap ages ago on X factor).

Itsfab · 14/11/2014 20:19

I don't think it is fair to say Simon Cowell is Scrooge.

He does a lot for charity. I remember once he gave a family a high five figure sum of money, though annoyingly I can't remember what for. I know he has millions but he didn't have to do it.

He also has sent the men who rescued the dogs from the kennel arson attack on holiday and gave money for the rebuild.

"A vulgar character from England" - Why blame England for the orange one?

stargirl1701 · 14/11/2014 20:22

Love the article 'vulgar character'.

It struck me, at the Hallowe'en parade, that the shops ought to stay open late on these event nights. The store owner from South Street moans that the there won't be any extra trade as her shop will be closed. Keep it open then!

Figster · 14/11/2014 20:24

Ha he switched ours on last night in a town in outskirts of bristol the Christmas light floozie!!

Do you have an Iceland?

neddle · 14/11/2014 20:31

You know, I actually guessed from the title before I clicked Xmas Grin

Figster · 14/11/2014 20:37

Maha he's on children in need at the moment mincing it up how does he still have a career? Seriously

Fuckerysmuckeryboilsnspornery · 14/11/2014 20:46

"A vulgar character from England" errr, vulgar character from Australia thank you.

LoveVintage · 14/11/2014 21:03

Grin needle

Oh yes, there is an Iceland, no doubt he will pop in there for his shopping on his way to the bus station.

chanie44 · 14/11/2014 21:27

I bet his fee is 89p.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/11/2014 21:36

He's a vulgar character from England, thanks! (Born in London, moved to Aus at age 6, according to Wikipedia).

Am just relieved that you're not sending him back here - I thought the title meant Perth, Western Australia for a minute!

Piffpaffpoff · 14/11/2014 23:01

I'm not in Perth but quite close by and we have an Iceland. Maybe I should stake it out....(by the way, those adverts are AWFUL)

GirlAnachronism · 14/11/2014 23:41

I'm not in perth, but close (my DPs live there). We had Santa turn on ours Xmas Grin
