Hi everyone.

I've just made a batch of carrot cake jam and will make some chilli jam at some point next week

I want to make some unusual jams for Christmas to have with cheese and cold meats (or just to spread on toast) Any ideas?

I'm afraid I don't have any ideas, but can I ask what recipe you are going to use for the chilli jam? I really want to make some to add to hampers. I've had a look online, but can't decide which recipe to follow!

I have used the Nigella recipe for the past few years which is this;

150 grams long fresh red chilli peppers (deseeded and cut into 4 pieces) 150 grams red peppers (cored, deseeded and cut into rough chunks) 1 kilogram jam sugar 600 ml cider vinegar - See more at: www.nigella.com/recipes/view/chilli-jam-2692#sthash.gLDNuFvL.dpuf

I use red wine vinegar and just use chillies though.

Thank you that's great!

Salt, Sugar, Smoke by Diana Henry has some great recipes for unusual jams - I like her Fig and Pomegranate and her Pear and Chestnut jams.

Thanks Jess. I'll check out Diane Henry. Dancing Queen, you don't need to make it in advance; I have even made it on Christmas eve before now Grin. Make loads of it because it goes really quickly.

Not sure if this is Christmassy but I've just come across a bacon jam recipe which also has coffee in it. I might have to give this one a go

You can see the fig and pomegranate recipe (and several others) in the preview here: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A3SDMZO?btkr=1#reader_B00A3SDMZO
