Gentle Christmassy film?

DS is 6, but is quite young and innocent in his tastes. I am looking to buy a Christmassy DVD or two for us to snuggle up with on Christmas Eve.

He loves The Snowman on DVD, and I have bought The Polar Express DVD As he liked the book so much.

Any other ideas please?

Yes to Father Christmas. Used to watch it as a child and bought it on DVD to rewatch Smile

Definitely Arthur Christmas

Annabelle's Wish

Blizzard - Whoopi Goldberg voices Blizzard the reindeer. It is £18.99 on Amazon, and definitely NOT worth that much, but I bought it for £1.50 out of CeX. My little sisters like it. CeX is worth a browse for cheap dvds actually.

Second Star to the Left - This is quite a short little film though.

The Donald Duck short with the three naughty nephews wishing it was Christmas every day. My eldest still insists on watching it every year. He's 17 Shock

Santa Claus The Movie is lovely.

I don't know that the muppets christmas carol is that gentle, I'd probably watch it first if he's likely to be scared of ghost. Iirc the ghost of christmas yet to come is a bit creepy.

But it's an awesome film, and my christmas favourite.

We've been watching Raymond Brigg's Father Christmas every year since dc were tiny and, for us, it wouldn't be Christmas without it. Smile

I don't know that the muppets christmas carol is that gentle.

Yes, you're right, it's AMAZING but it's not in the same gentle band as The Snowman. If it's something like that you're after them I recommend Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas too.

There is a set of Mickey short movies. We call it special Mickey here. We love it. Twice upon a Christmas it is called.

Our favourites, that come out each year (and that we used to watch as kids on tv) are Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Fred Astaire one) and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Burl Ives one). Both dated and kind of naff, but I love them.
nb a main character appears to die in the 2nd, but winds up fine, in case that kind of thing is a worry.
