Playmobil pirate ship or wooden one?

Trying to decide which one would be bed for 2.5 year old ds.. He's pretty good with Playmobil and plays with all his sisters things so I don't worry about that side of things too much but i don't know whether it's just too delicate?
The elc wooden one is also half the price or less but does it have as much play value? Or le toy van? It's going to be his main present so I don't mind spending on it as long as it's the right thing!

If probably buy play mobile because he will probably still use it aged 8

Playmobil will get more use, but the wooden one is lovely.

The ONLY person in our house who played with the ELC wooden one was DH. It has now gone to our neighbours who also don't play with it.

I did think the Playmobil one probably won for longevity.

Is the elc one a bit dull then Netball?

Play mobile one floats and can go in the bath or padding pool Ds2 loves his.

Both my almost 3yo and almost 8yo play with the Playmobil, although the almost 3yo prefers the Imaginex boat (not a pirate boat) which is more robust than Playmobil.

Dd1 loves her le toy van wooden one. It has a working cannon, extendable plank and a removable bar section to trap people in the hold. I originally got busking figures with in, but I'm upgrading to playmobil figures as these aren't so popular.

I hate our Playmobil one with a passion but my kids just love pulling it apart. They aren't really suited to Playmobil. I would sell it but loads of bits are broken or missing.

I'd say Playmobil. You'll get your money's worth.

I bought the wooden le van one last Xmas and then sent it back and swapped it for the playmobil one - mainly because there is more to it, it can float, will last longer and I liked the idea of being able to add to it. For example, this Christmas ds is having a playmobil fort and some dragons to go alongside the pirate stuff from last year. A friend of mine's dc still play with his playmobil which is nearly 30 yrs old so built to last!

We have a wooden ELC one, and a playmobil one.

The pm ship stays in the basket as it got completly trashed and all the strings for the sails got tangled. They prefer the castle, although will occasionally play with the ship along side.

The elc wooden one gets played with occasionally and looks nice on a shelf in their room.

I would say neither and get a Playmobil castle

Also would like the castle mrspiddlewink - but I need to save something for his birthday :o

Seems like a consensus on the pirate ship then. Pity that it's currently basically as expensive as it's ever been on amazon why?! Last year I remember loads of things were discounted about now?

I would vote Playmobil over a wooden pirate ship.

However (disclaimer - we have never owned a Playmobil pirate ship) I have heard that people find the pirate ship particularly fragile/fiddly/difficult to keep together as Playmobil sets go, so I personally would choose a different Playmobil set for a 2,5yo. I think Noah's ark looks great and very manageable!

But if your ds is particularly interested in pirates, I would go for a more simple version such as
