shhhh · 04/10/2006 14:25

bah humbug. Santa doesn't visit bad boys or girls you know.

I LOVE the kids bedtime on Christmas Eve. Putting out milk and a bun, the excitement, I LOVE coming down the stairs in the morning and seeing their faces as they see the room for the first time.

Everything else is crap. I'm worrying about it already. Why don't we have one year off and try again next year?

throckenholt · 04/10/2006 14:31

not Christmas per se - just the fact that it starts in September, and people get so het up about who goes where on which day

PizPizPiz · 04/10/2006 15:02

It always feels like an anticlimax to me. After all that pressure for weeks I always end up on Xmas day thinking 'so what now ? is that all it's about ?'. But this year dd will be old enough for us to make a fuss about it so maybe no I won't have it cancelled

actually I like christmas, but NOT the fact that it starts so early. Dingles is already displaying xmas trees and decoration, it's been more than a weeek now, don't like that!

Tommy · 04/10/2006 16:08

I would like Christmas if is wasn't for all the discussions about what we "have" to do and all the ridiculous buying of presents and the fact that MIL will go completely over the top again and the starting it in October and TV adverts telling us that we have to have something otherwise Christmas just won't be the same.....

(I'm a bah hunbug as well )

TwigTwoolett · 04/10/2006 16:08

I am happy to keep Christmas

IN DECEMBER

ITS OCTOBER

NotActuallyAMum · 04/10/2006 16:31

I'm with Twig

Come December I'll be wearing my flashing earrings and putting my decs up with a big grin on my face, but not in October!

thankyoupoppet · 04/10/2006 17:04

I LOVE LOVE LOVE christmas, just the very thought of it makes me feel very excited and go all goosebumpy, the sooner we can talk about it the better.

Christmas is great.

BRING IT ON!

nikkie · 04/10/2006 19:33

I don't mind preparing early (presents)but crackers/cards/trees etc shouldn't be in the shops yet

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 04/10/2006 19:34

why shouldn't cards be in shops?? I take it you don't have relatives overseas.......

Mum2FunkyDude · 04/10/2006 19:37

Too comercialised for my liking, I have a tiny wire tree with some beads on, stands in the corner, the truth, don't care about it if I'm not with family to whom it matters.
