Presents for nursery girls?

notenoughtogoround · 28/10/2014 18:02

I want to buy something for the girls who work in the toddler room at nursery. There are about seven of them and I am assuming they will get plenty of chocs/biscuits. Any suggestions? Also I would like to get something extra for his key worker who is great. I have no idea what 22 year olds are into! Thoughts/experience welcome!

Thanks in advance.

One year we got a magazine subscription for their staff room. That went down well.

Funky key rings and slipper socks (Dorothy Perkins that kind of thing) went down well.

Nice socks, coffee and nice biscuits for the staff room, necklaces etc.

Last year I got DD's nursery staff a little Christmas decoration each and then some chocs for the staffroom.

I usually do a Lush bath bomb and some chocolate. The chocolate is a cop out for me as the company I work for make it. This year I have a male carer to cater to as well so need to think of a new idea.

Marking place for ideas!

Thanks for starting this thread. Hadn't occurred to me to do this! I will now!

We've bought either vouchers (Boots) or wine, but only for dd's favourite/key worker and the nursery manager (not because she was manager, but because she had been especially helpful).
Not sure what we'll do this year as there have been lots of staff changes, so no particular staff who've worked that closely with dd over time. Might get some kind of thing from Whittards for the staff room -see if they do a pack of luxury hot chocolates, or something.

Fruit and cheese basket
Leather gloves or wool scarf for the key worker
Boots voucher
Posh hand cream

The magazine subscription is a genius idea!

I'd love a kind of staff room hamper idea - but one like whittards that they could enjoy for a while! Great idea.

Callofthewild · 28/10/2014 20:07

I have got the two girls in my daughters room Molton Brown christmas baubles. They are normally £10 each but got them for £5 using a £10 off a £20 spend voucher.

MaryBerrysBum · 28/10/2014 20:19

Definitely stealing the magazine subscription idea Grin

Great ideas, I am so unimaginative and hadn't got beyond a no of chocolates but there is some good stuff here. Thanks! Thanks

When I worked in a nursery, we all once got a small bottle of wine, a small bubble bath and some chocolate, it was a lovely gift but I'd imagine it was quite pricey, you could get bits from boots 3 for 2 or just some nice chocolates and a home made card from your dc, another mum made some home made fudge and put in pretty bags, that was really lovely too

Xenadog · 29/10/2014 18:56

I'm sending in a coffee, tea, hot chocolate hamper. Going to make it up myself so will keep costs down but should be something nice for the staff to share. Might send in a park of fluffy socks and a small bar of fancy chocolate for the two key workers as well.

Xenadog · 29/10/2014 18:56

Pair of fluffy socks not park!

I'm doing pretty notebooks for the preschool leaders. I hoped they'd be useful!

I got ds's a jute bag one year and also a nice scarf.

Not sure what to get dd's but liking the magazine idea.

turdfairynomore · 29/10/2014 20:11

I once got "a night in"-a gift bag with magazine, tin of premix gin, peanuts, chocolate, individual bubble bath and a small candle!!
