hi dd will be nearly 3 at xmas. not sure how many presents to get her (sounds silly i know). was thinking one main present which will be a kitchen, then maybe 2-3 smaller presents ie got her a play dough set so far and then a stocking - sound ok?

That sounds about right. Last year I got mine 3 presents. He got a LOT from family though

ItMustBeALime · 27/10/2014 21:39

That sounds fine, especially since he's likely to get more from family/friends anyway.

This year I am giving my 3 yr old a duvet set and some PJs with his favourite cartoon characters on as well as his 'real' presents, so he gets to feel he has more presents when in fact they are items I'd have to buy for him anyway...

frazzled74 · 27/10/2014 23:24

Pjs, a Christmas outfit( that can be worn for the rest of winter), bubble bath, a stocking with some bath toys, a satsuma and choc coins then 2-3 main presents £10-20 pound each.

We've got ds a train set off eBay, then toaster, kettle, saucepans, tea set from sainsburys (£6 the lot) and play doh. He'll also have a stocking.

I'm pretty much done, I want a doctors set for him but he's got enough really.

JuniperTisane · 28/10/2014 08:46

DS2 will be 23 months, he's got some duplo, a kitchen set (toaster, kettle etc) and a puzzle. I'm doing a stocking but it will just have silly things in it - couple of small books, xmas tshirt, sweeties. Nothing extravagant at all. Mind you, his birthday is 5th Jan so he will not lack for presents from other people. (He's getting his brother's first scooter hand-me-down for that)

patchesmcp · 28/10/2014 13:12

DD will be 19 months and she'll have a doll's crib (which was mine) as a main present and a few things to go with it. She'll also have a stocking and a few joint presents with her brother.

TBH she doesn't need anything as she has her brother's old toys and I'm struggling for ideas. I'm only really getting her stuff because otherwise her brother would find it odd.

elQuintoConyo · 28/10/2014 13:21

3yo DS is getting a plastic Wendy house for the garden, fresh playdoh, some cookie cutters etc for the playdoh, bed set as he'll be moving into his own room over Christmas finally and some random crafty bits I have been hoarding from Lidl/Aldi all year. Yes, all year. He also has a Christmas birthday.

Some lucky children get 'loads of stuff' from relatives, but ours doesn't, never has done. That's fine, we have no problem with that, but there is always a post or twenty saying that others' presents will bulk it up and not to worry if you haven't bought much yourself.

elQuintoConyo · 28/10/2014 13:22

Oh, and I'm also making:

Sheep rug
Sheep pillow/cuddly
Sheep pyjama case to help transition into big bed/sleeping alone Grin

BforBee · 28/10/2014 13:24

Dd same age. if I can find a teaset that doesn't come in garish (pink) colours or have peppa/hello kitty/anything else branded on every piece of china then she'll be getting that.

Other than that, I have no idea.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 28/10/2014 13:26

DD (3) is getting a main present (Playmobil School) and then a little hessian sack with new pjs, couple of books, an outfit, a game. She will then have her stocking (small) with new toothbrush, sweets, fruit, socls and nicks, few little figurines.

BedPig2013 · 28/10/2014 13:53

Dd is having duplo and a doll and stroller for her main presents, but she's also got lots of little bits in her stocking as well as pyjamas and nightgown, most of her stocking fillers are things I'd buy her anyway like a tooth brush, towel, crayons and paper and she's having a satsuma as well!

BedPig2013 · 28/10/2014 13:54

Bforbee I got dd a tea set from ELC, it's just primary colours, no pink or characters!

dreamcometrue · 28/10/2014 15:36

Bforbee I got ds' from sainsburys. It's blue and cream and was only £1.50 in the sale. If it's any use I have a spare kitchen equipment (saucepanswtetc) if you want it.

herecomesthsun · 28/10/2014 19:36

Dd (almost 3) wanted "a house", she is getting a (very nice) second hand wooden one from Ebay. I got a Jojo dress in the sale last year and some bits from Sainsbury's sale - a Woolly spider and a Tig and Woolly activity book from Ebay, also a little ballerina toy and some colouring stuff. I am not expecting family to send much.

JacktheLab · 28/10/2014 19:44

Toddler camera thingy from us and duplo from Santa, possibly a few little bits and bobs, but he's just had his birthday last week and he has plenty of toys so I'd rather that Xmas was about being with family than about getting stuff.

Chipandspuds · 29/10/2014 23:11

DS is going to be 3 in December, we've got him a marble run as his main present, some Lego, and Hungry Hippos plus his stocking which has a couple of books, Xmas stickers, Xmas stencils, felt tips, torch, chocolate coins, chocolate and dominoes.
