Dd is dinosaur mad, she just loves to shout dinosaur as often as possible! My mum wants to get her one for Christmas but a lot of toys I've found are 3+
Has anyone got any ideas of what I could get for her age, even a nice soft toy would be fine, thanks Smile

Jellycat do them.

ClariceBeanthatsme · 27/10/2014 18:32

DS has a jellycat dinosaur, Its lovely. We got ours from jojo maman bebe but they sell them lots of places and they have a website just Google jellycat

We have the Happyland Dinosaur - he is brilliant. Hard plastic.toy, robust and makes noises. comes in a set with a volcano and some little cave people Ill look for a link...

Link DD is about to turn three and plays daily with her Happyland stuff, having got it when she turned one. Its in great condition and should last well past dc2.

Thank you so much, I had no idea you could get happy land dinosaurs, I'm sure my dd would love that! I'll have a look at the jelly cat dinosaur now.

The jellycat dino is gorgeous! I might have to get it even if my mum doesn't, thanks again Smile

The Natural History Museum have some great plush ones as well as larger plastic ones - DS's nursery has the latter in a room with kids from 2.5 up.

Thank you, I'll have a look at natural history stuff too but my mum seems to like the look of the happy land

Excellent. Smile If your experience is like mine, you have many happy years of dino-obsession ahead of you!

I got a cuddly dinosaur in Sainsburys today for £3.50 for my 22mo DD! She loves them too. I'll be looking at the Happyland one too.

CheckpointSnarlee · 27/10/2014 22:04

I had an amazing blow up dinosaur may from the early learning centre, dd still loves it and she is 6!
found it

Asda have some huge plush dinosaurs that are on the 2 for £14 offer, I bought them a few days ago for dd and they look really good quality.

ipswichwitch · 28/10/2014 09:41

The Happyland dino is great. DS1 (3) loves it and spends most of his time making up complex dino related scenarios involving the Happyland digger and Bob the Builder! He hates any toys that make loud noises, but seems to be more than happy with this as it roars but not loudly (which is great for my ears too!)

Bordersmummy · 29/10/2014 23:10

Came on to say Asda plush ones, but I see someone else beat me to it.

DS had loads of dinos that were "3+" at 2. Just check them out first and make sure no small parts and most will be fine at that age. And will probably last longer. E.g. the schleich (and similar) dinos that my DS has had since that age are still going strong 3+ years later.

attheendoftheday · 30/10/2014 08:59

Dd1 is 3.5 and has been obsessed with dinosaurs since around that age. I think a lot of toys are marked 3+ to be on the safe side, we certainly had some when Dd1 was younger. As well as the normal collection of plastic dinosaurs some hits for us have been a cuddly Steggy the Stegasaurus from Amazon and a handmade dinosaur dress up tail from eBay. This christmas I am collecting schleich dinosaurs in a bucket a la Harry and the Bucketful of dinosaurs as a present.

What about Rex from toy story. He has a nice smily face
