DVD for a 10yr old, just learning English

Any suggestions on DVDs that would be good for a 10yr old with limited English, (I could get them in her first language but she is trying to learn English). She is at the my name is, colours, numbers stage but her Mum could help with any difficult parts.

She loves horses, shoping and swimming, tends to like being with younger children (so she is in charge), not a big reader, and is not interested in boys, make up etc yet. Quite a young 10, I think.

thanks

Lots of dvds can be watched in several languages. If you got one in her first language which could also be watched in English, that might help her and be interesting? So after watching it a few times she could watch it in English and hopefully know what was going on?

Why don't you get her something that is a retelling of a traditional story that she is already likely to know? That way she might find it easier to follow the English. So something like:-

Aladdin
Beauty and the Beast
Little Mermaid
Peter Pan

If you don't particularly want to go down the Disney route, there is a nicely acted version of Peter Pan that was made in 2003. There is also a good version of The Adventures of Pinocchio. It was made in 1996, and has Dawn French in it.
