Present ideas for Dad's first Christmas

I'm looking for a small gift to give DH for Christmas from DS, who was born earlier this month. I don't want to spend a fortune, £20-30 max.

Does anyone have any nice ideas? I've seen someone suggest cuff links with baby fingerprints but he hardly ever wears shirts (not needed for work)

Thanks in advance!

If you have a pottery painting place nearby they'll often do baby-handprinting onto plates, mugs etc. Maybe a "sorry for the broken nights" hamper with a mug and some posh coffee and biscuits?

The fingerprint cufflinks places will usually do key rings too.

My sister in law was just talking about a pottery place- he didn't seem too keen.

I like the sleepless nights hamper and the keyring ideas- will get the laptop out this evening :) thank you!

Not expensive but a nice book like this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0552569151/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1414327910&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX110_SY165 went down well with my DH

Thanks gooseysgirl- I'll definitely order something like that for him! Such a sweet idea. In my hormonal state I've just nearly cried!

I've bought my DH that book for his birthday in November from our new DD. I just know he will cry! I'm not sure about Christmas yet so following this thread with interest.

For dh's first Xmas after ds was born I got him a new wallet with a photo compartment and put a photo of ds in it. His previous wallet didn't have a bit for photos so he really loved it.

For ds1's first Christmas, he bough dh some Brio - the wooden train set. He does love trains, and it knew it was something he and ds1 would enjoy playing with together.

Something in addition you could do (we did this for Father's Day) get a scrap book and put some photos plus little messages in about how much/why they love daddy. Add to it each year. Dp really looks forward to it, dd can sort of write now, will be amazing to look back on when she's 16!

They're some really nice ideas- thanks everyone :)

I got a 'notebook' from john lewis here it's also got a pocket so is perfect. We've only done it once so far but I can't wait to do it again next year Smile

Dp is a programmer, dd1 got him a t-shirt saying dad in binary from think geek when she was a baby.
