I've just done one after reading. Might have a tinker with it yet.
It’s been an eventful year here. Becky and Chris have had their first. They’ve called him Steale, which is quite an unusual name – he’ll be the only one in the class, that’s for sure! He is beautiful. He is already coasting around the furniture and giving Barney a hell of a time when they visit us! We have to keep a careful eye on the biscuit-tin too!
Yes, Barney is still going. He will be twenty three next year which is very impressive. Your tabby was quite old? I think it must be in their genetics. He does have a lot of accidents now but I’ve treated myself to a steam-mop which makes very light work of it for me. Roy has got over the credit card bill!
Stuart is doing really well at his new place. He’s made me some lovely macramé pot holders. I’ve got so many now, I could have my own stall at a craft fair! If you’re ever short of a macramé pot holder, I’m your girl!
I’m still working part time at the shop, but Roy has retired now. He spends the days helping me out around the house and doing a bit of weeding. I strongly suspect he has developed a Jeremy Kyle habit as the Sky Box always clicks onto ITV2 when I get in from work. He assures me that it is a technological fluke, but I’m not so sure! He’ll be asking me for DNA tests next!
Anyway, as a retirement gift to himself Roy decided we should do something exciting, so we bought a barge! It really is delightful to relax on the canal, although I’m yet to find my sea-legs! Roy is quite dynamic behind the wheel, but I often need a little sit-down with a glass of something when we’re on-board. If you’re ever in the area, do come and join us!
We did have a lovely holiday to Salou in Spain in June – we try to avoid the summer holidays because it gets rather busy with children. We all know children are wonderful – when they’re yours!!! We like the quieter days when you can have a lovely stroll along the sands without toddlers at your feet. Anyway, it was a glorious fortnight although Roy had an awful time with some unfortunate tapas. He was on the toilet for at least twelve hours. We had to see the hotel doctor who could barely speak a word of English and then we had to go to hospital!! It was all rather distressing but I got a Radley bag for £10 in the market on the way back. Roy was fine, by the way – up and flamenco dancing with the waitress by 8pm that evening!
Anyway, it is the season to reach out and touch people, and we hope that you feel touched by our letter. We hope that we can catch up in the New Year – 2015, who’d have thought it?!
