Any suggestions for a 10yo girl who wants to be a vet, loves anything furry, is constantly surrounded by a gaggle of imaginary pets, who have names, nicknames and well-developed personalities.

But NOT soft toys! She has enough to fill a zoo.

Have you thought about a zoo encounter? There are keepers for a day in zoos like Colchester, or I know for a smaller cost you can do Lemur and tortoise tours at smaller zoos like Linton.

Thanks Donkir - that's a good thought. She'd love that and is probably old enough now to appreciate an "experience" instead of something wrapped up!

My animal mad DD (12) has had a subscription to National Geographic magazine for a couple of years - the adult one not the kids version which is aimed at a younger age group. She really likes it, there's lots of wildlife as well as general science / nature / environmental articles.
