When will you make yours?

I need to get organised. So when is The best time to make them?

They really should be made in October to give the puddings time to mature and the cake to be ready for marzipan (if used) and to thoroughly dry before icing.
In an ideal world puddings are made one year and used the next - just stored in cool dry place; definitely not the freezer or fridge! We shall be eating Christmas pudding vintage 2013 on 25th December - it's even moved house via temporary accommodation and years of experience tell me it will be fine, although my untrusting daughter, who is hosting the festivities, does have some posh commercial one (H.B.) on standby!!!

I made puddings in August and won't be making a cake as I don't like it. But I'm pregnant, so trying to prepare as much as possible in advance.

My cake is made and will be fed every week unroll 2week before icing.
My pudding will be made on stir up sunday

I'll make the cake with the DC in half term as they like helping, so late October.

Pudding I don't usually make but I'm organising a mass pudding stir-up for our WI meeting in mid-November so I'll do it then.

I usually make both the last weekend of September. I'm behind this year, so will be making 2 puddings and a Christmas cake with the kids during mid-term break.

I always make our cake at the beginning of October and feed it once a week.

Have just done the fruit for the cake this morning and will be making it tomorrow. Bit late for me this year, try to get it done end of Sept but it'll be fine. Haven't made puds yet, that's also really late but we are away for both half-term and Christmas so am both busy and a bit unmotivated to get on with it!
