Can we have a discussion on tablets please?

DS is 7. It is all he wants for reading and games. I'd thought about the kindle fire but the game he likes (minecraft) isn't available on it I don't think.

There is no way we can stretch to an iPad. We'd be £150 absolute max. Would prefer much less as we don't have any family beyond us so no grandparent gifts or cash he could contribute towards this.

Ds 1 has a samsung galaxy tablet and he's very happy with it, plays games, watches films etc. ds2 and 3 have kindle fires which are great they read, listen to music and play games. You can also turn off internet access on the kindle which I don't think you can on the samsung.

Nexus is fab.

I love that you can have different accounts which are locked by password.

Dd1 and Dd2 play all their games and read on it.

I use it browse the Web and play music hooked up to our docking station.

Personally I would pick Google Play over the apple app store any day.
