Ah, I might be able to help you with this. My DD's birthday is very close to Christmas day and I tried to order a birthday cake one year but couldn't. After much frustration I was told that at a certain cut off point (around20th?) the 'normal' food services are suspended and ONLY the Christmas orders will be fulfilled.

I complained about it at the time, (people still have Birthdays even at Christmas time!), but nobody was interested.

Ah thank you. I think the last day you could order was the 18th dec. from the normal menu I wanted some things for christmas to pick up on the same day as my christmas dinner food on the 23rd? thats annoying as some things I wanted are not on the christmas food menu.

so basically is my only option the christmas day menu for food picked up on 23rd unless i go shopping in store?

i know its frustrating, your poor DD!

Dd is a Boxing Day babe, and we are always able to buy a regular birthday cake in store on Christmas Eve. It doesn't bother us as either I wil be in work 4 mins walk away from a major store so wander in late morning, or we will be down "home" so glad of the excuse to escape to the local city whose M&S is never as manic anyway.

But while I can bake cakes, and am starting to be able to do fancy stuff decoration wise, Christmas is not a time to HAVE to do it.
