It's an amazing feeling isn't it? Grin Can't wait to see ds open the present I got for him today!

We've been camping a few times this year and every time another child has had a "stomp rocket" to play with which has completely enchanted ds.

I had reservations about it, as it can only really be played with in a massive wide open space, but in the end I couldn't resist simply because I know he will absolutely love it. I suspect most of Christmas day will now be spent at the park!

This is what I got him, sweetsomethings. Children from age 2 right up to adults have had a great time with one of these at every campsite we've stayed at.

Thanks OP! I have been struggling to think of ideas for DS who is 8 this year. He would absolutely love this. Grin

I got my mum a photo book 2 years ago.
There were sections for special occasions my brothers wedding. Mum and dads ruby wedding. First days at school. First Communion. then the rest was a photo of my nieces one of every month since they were born. One was 10 and the other 6 at that point so no mean feat. It took hours and hours to prepare but I knew shed love it. I was so excited on Xmas morning. I was so pleased how it turned out I gave my brother and sister in law a copy.

It was exactly the success I expected mind you it makes it hard to top

That sounds lovely Redglitter, and I can imagine it would be hard to top! Grin have you got any plans for this year?

EnterNickName - the one I linked to is the "junior" version as ds is only 4, but there is one for slightly older children in case you would rather have that for your ds (it's the "original stomp rocket" I think).

Excellent OP. Have just ordered two for niece and nephew. They will love them. Many thanks.

SixerofthePixies · 07/10/2014 21:21

We have one of these they are fab. Every child that comes round loves it.

EnterNicknameHere · 07/10/2014 21:23

Thanks, off to look at the original stomp rocket now.

I feel the same about DD's wooden shop. Every time she asks to play shops and bemoans the fact that we 'haven't got a proper shop like nursery' I do a little dance inside.Grin a stomp rocket sounds awesome x

LokiBear · 07/10/2014 21:36

I'm going to buy one for DH.

BedPig2013 · 08/10/2014 11:11

I feel like this about getting dd a stroller for Christmas Grin she plays with the one at play group every week without fail so I can't wait to watch her pushing it around on Christmas day

SteveBrucesNose · 08/10/2014 14:50

Great. Now im trying to decide who to get this for - my nephews or my dogs. That looks ace!

Ivedunnit · 08/10/2014 15:07

I bought my DS the stomp rocket and the kids on the street used to call for him and if he wasn't coming out they wanted to know if the rocket wanted to come out :-) a real winner !
