had a very festive day today! bagged myself the m&s christmas food to order catalogue and when i was in costa the barista told me that the christmas drinks will be out on 6th november. he also said he thinks sticky toffee latte will be on offer as well as praline cappuccino, although he wasn't certain.

anyone else love these festive coffees? any ideas what the other chains are bringing out? i can't wait for them to bring their yule log out either Blush

No, sorry. I like coffee to taste of coffee. I can't bear mucked about coffee.

I have a question. I bought a pumpkin spiced latte and noticed that it costs a quid more than a normal latte. Yet shots of other syrup cost 40p.

Does anybody know why they charge so much for the seasonal drink?

I haven't tried Costa (but I buy the Costa cards for my DD so she can get a drink when she's out, she never treats me though )

I go Christmas shopping when my DC are at school and I have a day off work.
Into Starbucks for one of their Christmas Coffees (I think toffee nut latte last year [mmm] )

I had a gingerbread latte at Starbucks once, it was better than I expected it to be but it didn't make me yearn for one again. I would have enjoyed a plain latte more.

Morris, it's a classic marketing trick. Tell people that something is special because it's seasonal, and the customers are prepared to pay more because the product is around for a short time only and not all year. A shot of syrup and a topping of squirty cream isn't worth it to me, it's just profit making for Starbucks.
