Just incase you haven't come across them, it's These. You get a set of 24 letters with your kids names on and then you deliver one a day through advent. Last letter is on Christmas Eve. The envelopes have their names on too and an International Elf Service stamp.

They are absolutely gorgeous - the paper is quite thick, a bit creamy coloured and has various different 'bits' in and feels textured. The illustrations look like they've actually been painted on almost and it all feels really authentic. Really lovely packaging and they just look and feel special. A real keepsake.

I can't WAIT until the 1st December Grin. My kids are going to explode, as am I.

WIsh my 2 year old was a year older :) I'll have forgotten this site by next year probably :(

AcheyJakey · 05/10/2014 20:24

There's no year date, just 1st December etc so you could just buy a set now and keep them for next year Grin

I really want to buy a set for my goddaughter as her Christmas present - except she won't know they're from me and then think I've forgotten her.

How did you find out about the website AcheyJakey?

AcheyJakey · 05/10/2014 20:25

No I've got enough crap clogging up the house without storing stuff for 15 months! i'll just google elf letter next year theres probably a million similar sites in google!

ghostisonthecanvas · 05/10/2014 20:26

How much do they cost please (if you don't mind) and where do you get them from? Be my last year this year I know that they are only pretending this year but I am pretending I don't know!

Mouldypineapple · 05/10/2014 20:26

Bit expensive for me..

ghostisonthecanvas · 05/10/2014 20:28

BlushBlush for sake. Just saw the link. Sorry.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 05/10/2014 20:28

Think they were designed by a MNer. I know it shouldnt but it then makes me do Hmm face on the rare times they are mentioned.

No idea if they were designed by you OP, but I am a skeptic.

£35 from here: Elfie's Christmas Letters.

Yes it's a lot but it doesn't feel like it when you're looking at them and I know how much fun I'll they'll have.

AcheyJakey · 05/10/2014 20:31

oh cool, really??

misstiredbuthappy · 05/10/2014 20:33

I was looking at these the other day they look brilliant,

I forgot to have a look at the price how much are they ?

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 05/10/2014 20:35

I think they look gorgeous but 35 is a bit much. I may try to create my own. As I'm pretty handy craft wise I should be able to manage. I can't "do" 35 pounds when I already need to fill the blinking hand made advent boxes! Grin

AcheyJakey · 05/10/2014 20:38

They suggest one delivery idea is leaving a clue to their letter so I'm going to do that i think and stick those in my advent calendar instead of the craft/activity ideas I never quite managed to pull off!

I MUST stop talking about Christmas and get on with my a)tooth fairy letters for DD that I have a mental block with and b) my presentation…sigh

OP posts:
TravellingToad · 05/10/2014 20:41

Oh Christ, hadnt seen the price. Wouldn't spend £35 on them. And one a day i suppose is a bit much. Along with elf on the shelf i'd never get a chance to bloody sit down. leaving out letter, moving elves, filling advent calendars!

TravellingToad · 05/10/2014 20:49

AcheyJakey did the letters take a while to come in the post or did you receive them quite fast? Wondering how far in advance you'd need to order

waithorse · 05/10/2014 20:55

Ridiculously expensive for what they are and I'll buy any old shite if it's to do with Christmas. Grin

MultipleMama · 05/10/2014 21:03

I'm doing this for my dd this year, she's the biggest Christmas fan.

My eldest doesn't believe and the younger ones are either more bothered about reindeers or too young to understand.

So I get to indulge her and I'm excited! :)

missusmrs · 05/10/2014 21:04

£35!!!!! A free hour on internet and I'm sure I could pull together 24 letters...lovely idea which I will borrow, thanks.

AcheyJakey · 05/10/2014 21:15

Toad, I ordered the week before last but it was before they'd started despatching so not sure what their times are. Should be on the site?

Missus - I wish I was that creative. I've just knocked up a very poor tooth fairy note. And I'm sure she'll recognise my writing!

OP posts:
TravellingToad · 05/10/2014 21:20

Can't you buy tooth fairy notes too for the creatively challenged? :D You need a pre-bought stash for emergencies!

AcheyJakey · 05/10/2014 21:24

That's the thing, the tooth always comes out just as we're leaving for a big night out / I have flu / I'm up to my neck in mumsnet work!

Another who is going to steal the idea and recreate them myself.
