Need inspiration for DSD!

She has asked for loads of craft sets/make it kits but nothing as a 'main' present.

Inspire me please!! Budget: up to £150

a bike, and she wants some lavender soap.

DancingBabyGroot · 25/09/2014 19:39

Oooh a bike!! I hadn't thought of that. I'll put it on the shortlist thank you.

My dsd is also 8, for her birthday she recently got a hudl and a set of frozen figures, both really well received. My Christmas we are struggling a bit, but so far we have got her a ticket to see shrek the musical, football shirt with her name on, slippers, cosy socks and a how to draw book.

jamtoast12 · 25/09/2014 19:42

Bike, lego friends, dance clothes, craft

DancingBabyGroot · 25/09/2014 21:24

A HUDL sounds great as she's very much a technological child. Lego friends are another one I didn't think of. Tickets to a show would be brill as well. Thanks everyone.

DD just had her 8th b'day. She got ice skates as her "main" present. Other kids were onesie, blazer, Michael Morpurgo story CDs, hex bug set, a football.

What on earth am I going to get her for Christmas?!

BarbaraPalmer · 25/09/2014 21:31

probably show tickets - she wants to see Matilda
I've picked up an Elsa costume in Sainsburys this week, and an Anna Barbie-type doll (4yo is getting an Anna Costume and Elsa doll Grin)

WLmum · 25/09/2014 21:36

Dd1 (7) just started writing a list - number 1 is a small live pet like a green parrot! Totally not going to happen, she's also after a Barbie dream house (unlikely) and a playmobile safari house. She's most likely to get a maze/puzzle book, hair bits (she's desperate for make up and nail varnish but I think she's too young), science experiment book, CDs, she loves story dcs which we normally get from the library but good idea to buy some.

DancingBabyGroot · 25/09/2014 21:42

My DD wants this little live pet

Ice skates/roller skates are a fab idea but DSD should be called Calamity Jane Hmm

I'd clocked the little live pets.

The robofish are quite cool if you're ok with spending a little more on a stocking type present.

They're fun in the bath.

DancingBabyGroot · 25/09/2014 21:55

Oh she mentioned robofish a while back! I'll have a google. Thank you.

dancing now it makes sense! I haven't seen any ads for these and thought she meant an actual parrot!!

DancingBabyGroot · 25/09/2014 22:00

Blush I did too until I googled them!! Meant to be one of the must have toys for Christmas 2014. They look so annoying and I've just realised I've linked to the cage not the actual birds

Mine wants Monster High Dolls (revolting), Zelfs, my little Pony Dolls and a bag you colour in. I might get her a hudl.

Biffabin · 27/09/2014 08:53

For her birthday we went to see matilda.
For Christmas she is getting a bmx. Also wants heelys, zoo tickets, books and a detective kit.

snowmanshoes · 27/09/2014 09:26

I've gt my daughter Shrek tickets for her 9th birthday (next year but bought now for good seats) This seems to be the age that all her friends are getting into seeing musicals. She likes lots of things already mentioned but also the MiWorld sets as she is disappointed the lego friends mall isn't a one-piece big set and just more of the same.

wingcommandergallic · 27/09/2014 09:37

Houseprices, instead of a bag to colour in, would your daughter like some clothes to colour: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/200698859/colour-me-clothes-a-great-activity-for?

Thanks for the hints about robofish and the birds. Excellent presents for DD and niece. Slightly older nephew might like them too.

NickiFury · 27/09/2014 09:38

A bike. A keyboard (doing lessons), monster high dolls (obsessed with them), Frozen stuff.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 27/09/2014 19:58

Monster high house and some new dolls

Cabbage patch doll

My little pony and equestria figures

Make up! (Not happening she has a iPad type thing that came with lelli
Kellys that has eyeshadow and lipgloss in and that's enough)

High heels (again not happening)

Bike and helmet

A shitzu (again not happening we have two dogs already)

Stuff from smiggle, water bottle for netball top of the list.

Superdry coat to be like her brothers. (Pretty sure they don't do them to fit a tall slim 8yr old)

Handbag from cath kidston or monsoon/accessorize

Gel pens from costco

iPod touch pink

I'm sure she will have added to that list by December and obviously she won't be getting it all

She was 8 in march.

MollyBdenum · 28/09/2014 08:12

A velvet leotard for gymnastics, stuff she needs to learn to knit (yarn, needles, a book), a ballet bag, a big bar of white chocolate, a My Amazing Butterfly toy.

MollyBdenum · 28/09/2014 08:15

I will also be getting her a George book by Lucy and Stephen Hawking, and she and her brother will get Lego and a board game to share.
