DD (age 6) keeps asking for toys she's seen on telly but I have yet to see myself. I have no idea what she means so if anyone can help, that would be appreciated.

1, a loom band kit or similar where you can 'make a human' or 'make a dog'

2, a butterfly thing where you can attach butterflies to your bag etc

TIA

No idea about number 1. number 2 could be the butterfly garden, where you grow caterpillars through to letting them hatch. its on amazon. you buy the net then send off for the caterpillars when ready. DD1 got it for her birthday, she loved it.

The other possibility is that it maybe the live pets series that's just come out. Do birds and butterflies I think.

little live pets butterflies

You can get all different looms, like circular ones or different widths that help with making different things.

We are at the end of the loom band craze in Australia and the dc made a shift from making bracelets and the like to making things like fruit shapes, animals and people. They made them into key rings or charms. Steve from minecraft was most popular! And my little pony. There are millions of YouTube videos.

You can make people or dogs (or other things) with a regular loom band kit; you just need the right instructions and they are all over YouTube (or there are some books available now too -- have a look in Claire's Accessories)

I've seen the advert for item 1 I think. It includes a giant pink poodle made of loom bands! I hate to think how long it took or how many bands. I asked DD if she wanted one and she looked at me and said "No. I can't even make a simple starburst."

Which doesn't help you as I can't remember what it's called.

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 25/09/2014 14:12

The butterfly thing could well be My Amazing Butterfly: "With 14 different designs to collect, accessorize and bring to life you can clip your butterflies to your hair, your backpacks, even your clothes and create your own fashion trend"

(Toys R Us link)

Think the first one would just be one of those double width looms and agree that the second one is the little live pets butterfly. They have the double width looms in the argos book. HTH

Bloody hell owl that poodle is immense challenging!

OwlCapone · 25/09/2014 15:49

I find the poodle somewhat improbable :)

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 25/09/2014 16:25

Oh, I've seen the poodle eleswhere online. IIRC duct tape and glue guns were involved as well as a loom.

frankie80 · 25/09/2014 19:20

you guys are the best, its definitely that crazi-loom and my amazing butterfly.

Bloody hell, that poodle :o I was thinking she meant a wee one!!
