Neighbourhood Xmas get together

If new neighbours invited you and others to there's one evening near Xmas for drinks and nibbles to get to know the neighbours would you go?
Would you think its strange or a nice idea?

Yes definitely. Great way to meet the neighbours. My neighbours did this last year and are planning to again the year.

Nice! Some people new to our village did this a couple of years ago - they actually have a massive house, so invited loads of people from the village - it was a great party. Only thing, though, was that because so many were invited, a few people who weren't felt a bit upset, so I guess it's important not to leave anyone out in those circumstances.
