Well then I shall be queuing for them to open tomorrow!

Mintyy · 21/09/2014 22:16

Sure those will all be lovely and fresh in 90 days time Hmm.

NumTumDeDum · 21/09/2014 22:21

But you never buy this stuff now expecting to eat it then? It won't make it past halloween in this house.

RustyParker · 21/09/2014 22:28

Is the stollen really marzipan-y?? Please say yes! Couldn't find any decent stollen last year Sad Ruined my xmas it did

Did you notice how much the panettone were?

SmileAndNod · 22/09/2014 15:48

Panettone are 3.99 in ours

WildFlowersAttractBees · 22/09/2014 16:03

Thanks. I shall have to go and see if my local one have any!

Doublethecuddles · 22/09/2014 16:07

Last year I refused to buy any Lidl Christmas food until December, at which point most was sold out! Will buy. But not till after DC birthday which is in November

CMOTDibbler · 22/09/2014 16:25

dh has decided to use the mini stollen bites as cycling energy food. A calorie count tells us that it needs some serious work to offset even one

MrsDavidBowie · 22/09/2014 16:37

I just don't like Christmas food.
Mince pies, stollen, cake, chocolates...all pass me by.
Am I odd?Smile

I don't buy any at all.

shakemysilliesout · 23/09/2014 10:55

I want chocolate panettone now!

Guitargirl · 23/09/2014 15:19

I bought some lidless panettone today and I was obviously not the first as there were plenty already off the shelves!

JustAShopGirl · 23/09/2014 20:27

the mini, buttery, marzipan, stollen bites are just absolutely fantastic! And VERY marzipanny And even DH and DD2 agree - and they don't like sultanas/raisins.

Pollywallywinkles · 23/09/2014 20:50

We found the stollen a little on the dry side last year. We've had it before and it was ok,but not going to get it from Lidl this year. It's about the only christmas food we get, so will either buy from elsewhere or make one.

Jcee · 23/09/2014 21:08

The mini stollen are fantastic! Polly try them so much better than 1 big stollen

BelleateSebastian · 23/09/2014 21:13

I cant remember if its Lidl or Aldi but my friend has been making christmas cakes for them for the past couple of months, her cakes are AMAZING, she usually sells at food fairs and farmers markets ... look out for them Grin

IScreamForIceCream · 25/09/2014 17:14

I had an unfortunate incident with Lidl's mini stollen last year- I bought some, ate them all myself in 2 days, then needed more. But they have sold out. Sad

A similar thing happened at Easter with the cherry-filled eggs. Must buy ore this year, and resist troughing them.

IScreamForIceCream · 25/09/2014 17:14

Buy MORE. Not ore.
