Any idea if Christmassy releases this year? I like to have something in the Christmas Eve hamper.

DVDs please. What's a Christmas Eve hamper? A Mumsnet tradition. Goodies for the whole family. Ours for the last couple of years has been PJs for everybody, snowman soup, chocolate, a DVD and a bedtime story. Last year we had some story cubes too - might buy a game this time.

Actually we haven't watched The Polar Express yet. Could give that a go.

Not a new release but we like Arthur Christmas DVD.

The last 2 years' dvd's I've put in the hamper have been the polar e press and Arthur Christmas so I'm looking for inspiration for this year.

I've only done the hamper twice so far (kids are only 5 and 2) but I've loved it. I do a Christmas bag with pj's, chocolate, bubble bath, hot chocolate, marshmallows, popcorn and DVD.

A Christmas Story is great for the slightly older child (think 7+) Same with Miracle on 34th Street

For younger ones Frosty the Snowman and Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer were my favorites.

Rise of the guardians would be good fir hampers.

This is great - we haven't found one we love enough to watch every year yet!

The Velveteen Rabbit is cheesy but nice.
