Our tree will be a mish mash of decorations, collected over the years. My most random ones are a rubber duck Sykes decoration, and a jelly fishGrin

A manky, wrinkled piece of orange painted with glitter glue on a scratty piece of string that I made at school 20 years ago.

It looks disgraceful (though weirdly doesn't smell) but it cannot be thrown away or the tree will be incomplete!

Wibbly I think it was free with a Dr Who magazine.. it was a cut out and stick and if I remember it was a PITA but DS loves it. It was on the top of the tree for a while

We have an 'alternate' top to our tree. I can't say what as it will instantly out me. DH has had this toy since he was young, and the first year we were together we put it up as we didn't have a fairy/angel/star. We aren't religious, but this character is a well known master of a non-religion that is popular in the sci-fi world lol. Now it's not Christmas without him on top of the tree!

Funghoul · 21/09/2014 08:44

Our tree is all nightmare before Christmas themed so lots of skeletons!

turdfairynomore · 21/09/2014 09:07

A walrus. And a sand dollar with a manatee painted on it that plays "white Christmas"!

fuzzpig · 21/09/2014 09:11

Last year I got DH a Sherlock Holmes from the Christmas shop in London bridge. This year I've got him a little plaque that says "love you more" - cheesy but it's an ongoing joke argument :o

We also have a ceramic Starbucks takeaway cup that I bought on clearance when dad took me to do a food shop at tesco - can't even remember if it was just before or just after the 25th. I tell people it's to remind us that we mustn't let Christmas be all about commercialism :o

I really want to get some more geeky decorations. I will start another thread so as not to derail this one :)

I also have bacon made from felt (mine also smells like bacon).

We got married at Christmas and I asked our guests not to buy big presents but to instead get us a bauble. We got a most fantastically eclectic range.

TheToadLessTravelled · 21/09/2014 09:27

We have a stuffed cartoon Xmas pudding with fangs called Vlad Von Pud. Gotta love random Xmas craft market finds m Grin

Have lots of random ones built up over the years but one which is special rather than funny- my wonderful dm made my wedding dress which included reading work. She wired up the leftover beads as a tree decoration for us. It looks a little like a sparkly jellyfish but I love finding it every year!

Labrat72 · 21/09/2014 14:23

frignorant A miniature Elvis wearing a gold suit.
We have one of those too :) a wobbly one we bought in Vegas.

TheFantasticMrsFox · 22/09/2014 00:15

Ha, I've just remembered we have a wonky great angel for the top of our tree. It's a cone of red card with gold doiley wings and a laminated photo of DS's head on top. He was probably 3 at the time and is now nearly 11 but it still makes me chuckle. Sadly he made us promise that last year was the last year it was on top of the tree so will now need to source a new one :(
