What to get a nearly 3 yr old girl

I don't normally start thinking about Christmas til October, but I think my Dd will enjoy and take more notice this yr, so I want to get more organised and I don't want to miss any early bargains!

I was thinking about a kitchen, going to have a look on ikea website then

The ikea one is brilliant, their food and pans are also really nice but seem quite pricey compared to the cheapness of the kitchen

I'm in exact same boat. Not sure what to get and I don't think I have the space for a kitchen. Dd is loving toy story just now so planning in getting a buzz and woody. Not sure what else, definitely no peppa pig. Dd isn't allowed to watch her.

Also in same boat, following with interest. DD got a kitchen last Christmas and it has been played with almost every day since, it was a fantastic gift for her. She has been asking for a bike for aaaaages so we're thinking of getting a balance bike for her. We're in the very lucky position of hopefully moving from a flat to our own house with a garden soon so we are thinking of getting a playhouse as a joint gift for DD and DS. Missed out on the recent Argos deal on little tikes house, but keeping a close eye on eBay. We are not really a Peppa Pig household either, I just can't stand the endless snorting so we haven't encouraged any interest in it..

We don't have the ikea kitchen but lots of friends do and it is fab! Ours came from ELC, bought in a sale this time last year... was planning ahead as was expecting DS end of Nov so had to be organised!

Well she doesn't actually watch peppa pig either, she does however love doc mcstuffins but has a few bits already from that range, I def think I will get her a kitchen tho seems a good investment but I wouldn't need to pay£££ for a good ish one(hopefully). I've been looking at those balance bike things.... Mmm I don't know!

Tuff spot. Very versatile for small world play plus can be used outdoors.

Ikea kitchen and balance bike were popular with dd1 last year at that age. She also got a mini micro scooter which has been used every day since (along with a pull along strap before she got the hang of scooting).

Also popular were an aquadraw mat, dolls and doll clothes/bed/buggy, a tricycle, a dollshouse, toy farm, happyland bits (bus very popular), a rocking horse, wooden post box, plastic dinosaurs and a wooden tool set.

Yes, we have far too many toys

My DD is 2.5 so v similar. She adores her kitchen, scooter, Brio train set, duplo, and puzzles/jigsaws, and picnic bench sandpit.

We are thinking maybe an outside toy like a climbing frame. I think I might cry if we have to find room for any more toys in the house!

Thanks ladies, I will have a look round for a kitchen and really interested in a bike of some sort. Really want to make Christmas more special this year as hopefully she will enjoy it more and take it all in...although don't want to go overboard either :)

Has she got a train set? Ours gets played with every day and older kids always go for it too.

ELC have a fab scooter half price to £17.50 (DDalmost3 is getting it for her birthday!).

DD has a balance bike but much prefers her friends scooter... typical!

DS was almost 3 last Christmas.

We got him puzzles, a till from ELC, Happy Land figures as he was getting into pretend play and making up conversations with his toys, and a little push bike (no pedals) which he still loves.

Mmmm lots to think about. She's got Lego,puzzles,a couple of dollies,thousand of teddies! A lot if her toys seem babyish, so I think I'm looking to have some more toys for her age. Would live to get her a train set(so I can play as we'll;)) think I need to make a list, thanks again ladies you've all been really helpful

Mini micro scooter. Cost per use beats anything hands down that we've bought over the years.

Some lovely ideas here. My dd will be 2 years 8 months, and so far have got her:
Dolls' house (main present)
The Bear Hunt board game (she was obsessed with the book for a while, and while less so now, still talks about it loads)
A handbag in the shape of a chicken (one of her favourite animals)
Various little cheapy bath toys I got on eBay - wind up frog etc.
Some Peppa craft stuff.
Her main love at the moment is craft, but I generally just give her craft stuff rather than making her wait. Similarly books and board games - I get these really cheaply from car boots generally, so don't bother to hold them back.
Am wondering whether to ask my mum (who is bound to ask) to get her another big Happyland set - she loved the zoo she got last year, but am not sure what age they start to grow out of Happyland?
She is repeatedly asking for a scooter for Christmas at the moment, so I guess that is something I need to investigate.

Lovelydiscusfish can I recommend the happyland funfair set? Very popular with both my 3yo and my 18mo. 3 rides, a train, a car and at least 8 figures. My dds got it last year from db last xmas, it's been used most days since.
