Thread four already.

As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

Ahem, I can’t actually remember if I updated the links from 2 threads ago. I think I have, but I’m not sure. If you spot any links that don’t work and you’ve already told me please tell me again in bold Thanks and sorry.

I've managed to get as far as half way through the last one (I know, I know, could do better) so if there's anything you think from the last thread that got missed off please let me know and I'll amend for next one.

Just to let you know, this book is available on Book People - ordered three (1 for DD for xmas and 2 for the present box). Only £3.99!!!

www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?productId=494738&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&searchTerm=frozen

They also have a book about the making of the film (art related) but I can't warrant that at £20...

KEGirlOnFire · 13/08/2014 07:13

Sorry I should have said it's a Frozen - The Essential Guide book.

KEGirlOnFire · 13/08/2014 07:15

Sorry I keep posting too soon!! Lovely hardback book. Colourful and with a description of each of the characters on every page from Anna and Elsa through to the trolls. Talks about their part in the film and their likes and dislikes. Really lovely book (but then never expect anything less with Book People).

KEGirlOnFire · 13/08/2014 07:16

... and finally... Not really for toddlers though, I would say aimed at 4 years plus.

BuddyKringleberry · 13/08/2014 08:15

I can't link as I'm on my phone but I just got Lego crook pursuit on Amazon down from £4.99 to £2.99 and Lego fire chief car down to £4.99 from £7.99, handy little stocking fillers. Spent £20 on Amazon this morning and my feet haven't even touched the bedroom floor : ) Love a school holiday x

dandelionsRflowers · 13/08/2014 08:41

KEGirl I ordered the Frozen book a few months ago, it really is lovely.

I've bought dd a few Frozen things now so I'll try to come up with a nice way to present them to her. I've got the balloon from a few threads ago, nail varnish etc from Poundland, Loom bands, the book...

Bigfoot do you have a scrap store near you?

We have one (Milton Keynes) and there are quite a few spread through the country. It's worth googling scrap stores to find where your nearest one is.

They basically collect all sorts of scraps, overstocks, offcuts etc from local firms that would otherwise be throwing it away - saving them money as they don't have to pay for as much rubbish to be collected. It's all stuff that makes for great art and craft supplied and it's dirt cheap. They also have really cheap paper, pens, paints, glue, googly eyes, pipe cleaners etc etc. And they also have a weird and wonderful range of other stuff - considerably cheaper than in stores - of all sorts of things relayed to kids in some way; lunch boxes, key rings, games, etc, no guarantees what you will find but the sort of place to buy when you see it rather than wait as it will be gone and something different there the next time.

Plus they hire out more expensive bits of kit that makes it viable to use for a session or two but that you wouldn't want to buy yourself. Eg we hired a badge making machine for the school fete - a seriously heavy duty one - that cost a tenner I think and enough blanks to make 100 badges, then every 100 blanks more just cost another £4 (about, can't remember exact price). And they run lots of courses for adults - from arty crafty ideas for different ages to help inspire you to things like first aid.

It costs individuals £10 to join, not sure what the rate is for schools, childminders, or other organisations like scouts etc but everybody I know that uses it (including schools and individuals) reckon that they break even on the joining fee very quickly as things are so cheap.

I'm considering giving arts and crafts mad ds a large box for Christmas and taking him to the scrap store with say £15 to spend as a present - he would be in heaven and that would last him months!

I'm waiting for people to come on and talk about their email from flavourly ....

MooseyMoo · 13/08/2014 09:41

Sainsburys have half price on stationery including Crayola sets, stickers, mini craft sets. I stock up on these for something to do on rainy days.

Just read Flavourly email, not really interested. I wasn't that impressed by the boxes.

imip · 13/08/2014 11:37

moosey my jl order came and I brought 4 of the playmobile carry cases (great value for a fiver). I didn't mind what I got as it was for the present box. I have 4 dds and they have a lot of parties, boys and girls, and its good to have a lot in stock.

The jl order arrived yesterday and dds were around as I opened the box. I explained that they were for the present draw. Lo and behold, I opened up 4 princess boxes, girls were estatic! They went into the present draw!

KEGirlOnFire · 13/08/2014 12:12

Thanks Daddy, just ordered 2. DD has just turned 5 and is starting to read chapter books now and is obsessed, so that will be a nice stocking filler. Plus another one for the present box! She's going to a Frozen 6th birthday party next Friday, fingers crossed it might arrive in time - it will be a perfect gift for another Frozen fan. Smile

Errr here

306235388 · 13/08/2014 12:27

fluffy I don't know much about the taste card but dd has that tablet and it is hopeless.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/08/2014 12:29

You could sell the tablet unopened in the box on facebook & get £20 for the kitty though Wink

Somersaults · 13/08/2014 13:52

Marking place :)

Oneoffchange · 13/08/2014 13:56

Well, I've received the Frozen swimming costume from Aliexpress and it is a-ma-zing!!!! Grin I am under no illusions that it's not legit Disney Store, but it does have a Disney Store label in it. It is so so pretty. James Yee was the seller.

So, I'm in a bit of a 'Frozen' rut...

What else can I order from Aliexpress. My DD is 5 - loves Playmobil, dolls and Frozen!!

What about women's stuff, anything that anyone can recommend?

IsaJess · 13/08/2014 14:36

Me too! Thank you 306 :-)

TeWiSavesTheDay · 13/08/2014 14:47

Just done my annual character.com filling of the gift basket, they have tonnes of good quality backpacks in the clearance section for less than £3 - there's quite a few pjs as well, from the things I bought last year they don't wash that well (don't tumble them!) but for 95p I'm not complaining.

I haven't rtft - but also spotted teenage mutant ninja turtle 17" skateboards (for toddlers) at £6.99 and Character socks and vests in aldi this weekend.
