Could anyone point me in the right direction for some uber cheap stocking fillers for a 2 year old boy please? Amazon links preferably, as it's easier for me to order from them. Thanks in advance Grin

Twinklestar2 · 26/07/2014 18:29

Thanks for the welcome!

Bargain I saw in TK Maxx in Greenford. This for £4.99: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B002ZXOH1S/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?qid=1406395627&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX110_SY165

I'm currently pregnant so will prob be posting lots of baby bargains!!

Ilikesweetpeas · 26/07/2014 19:02

Please could anyone who bought a frozen dress from Aliexpress tell me how long it took to arrive? I'm on a tight time schedule! Thanks in advance

JetJungle · 26/07/2014 19:44

They never come sweetpeas. They promise you the world in their quaintly worded emails, call you 'dear' a lot and send nothing. Grin

In all seriousness though, if you are on a tight time schedule I would avoid AliExpress. I ordered on 06 Jul and haven't received a thing yet.

JetJungle · 26/07/2014 20:40

These are a great buy for teens and difficult to buy for people.

£44.99 Bang & Olufsen headphone which normally sell for £109.00.

Spottybra · 26/07/2014 20:45

If anyone shops at asda, at the end of an aisle nr the back of the store there is usually a sale of greatly reduced stock. I've picked up hot wheels which should be £20 for £7.50, turtle figures £10 reduced to £5, robot cushion £3 and hello kitty Lego £3, friends Lego £5, and some school items (a protractor for 25p for instance).

Spottybra · 26/07/2014 20:52

Oooo, a thought, I bought my mum a throw from dunelm mill last winter. It's a lovely soft strokable velvety tartan one side and soft fleece the other side. £15 ish. She only shops at very expensive places and would have sworn a throw of that quality would cost £50-£150. She wraps it around her legs on cold evenings, or uses it as a blanket shawl, throws it over her bed for extra warmth, gives it to guests to use, let's her grandchildren sleep wrapped up in it, and it's still feels as good as new. She swore it kept her so warm she didn't need the heating on for longer into the winter than usual. If anyone has an OAP grandparent or parent it might be worth a browse there this year.
But their children's teddy bear throws wash terribly badly. V soft in the shop but don't stand up to a wash.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 26/07/2014 20:56

In an attempt to keep costs down, I was planning on doing homemade hampers for adults, does anyone know where I can find cheap (empty) hampers from?

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/07/2014 21:02

Homesense or tk maxx had empty hampers last summer or eBay.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 27/07/2014 07:59

Thank you we don't have a Homesense near us but there's a tk maxx 20 mins drive away, I'll have to check it out. And of course ebay - can't believe I didn't think of that!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/07/2014 09:01

Homesense and tk are the same company. I think a lot of people buy picnic hampers as presents or for days out but never use them so they go on eBay.

I love my picnic hamper.

Wait4nothing · 27/07/2014 09:01

I was in TKmax yesterday and they had lovely baskets you could use for hampers - some with handles too

littlecupcake · 27/07/2014 09:29

Try The Range, Home Bargains and B and M Bargains. You can cheek online and call ahead to save a wasted trip. I've been really lucky in Home Bargains for happier baskets - selection if sizes and reasonably priced, too.

littlecupcake · 27/07/2014 09:30

Hamper baskets, not happier baskets!

WaitMonkey · 27/07/2014 10:27

I love the idea of happier baskets. Grin

WildFlowersAttractBees · 27/07/2014 10:50

I just ordered lovely glass 'milk bottles' from Lakeland, reduced to £1.49 each. They have larger ones for £1.99 but I like the look of the small ones for the kids or cocktails.

I also got a chocolate spoon mould down to 99p to make my own for hot chocolate mug gifts.

xalyssx · 27/07/2014 11:20

cute dog bag

TenMinutesEarly · 27/07/2014 12:41

Funnily enough Whittard do empty hamper baskets. Often on 3 for 2.

TheMumatron · 27/07/2014 13:49

I saw some lovely hamper baskets on sale in Sainsburys yesterday - I think they were about £11.
